No Need to Deport Me. This Dreamer's Dream is

Dead.

By: Tawheeda Wahabzada ~ The NY Times ~ August 13, 2019

I love the United States. But I will leave my country with no hope of returning.

I am a Dreamer. I have lived in the United States since 1995. I plan to self-
deport in early 2020.
I grew up in Carson City, Nev., from kindergarten until I left for college in Reno.
I’ve celebrated Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember. I participated in
local soccer leagues as a kid. I pledged allegiance to the American flag. This is
the country I call home.

Because of circumstances beyond my control, I am undocumented. I was born

in Toronto and was brought to the United States at age 5 by my parents, who
were refugees from Afghanistan. I am one of the approximately 700,000
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients in America today. As
a result, I have lived my life in perpetual limbo — and in the shadows.

Today marks two years since our last California-

Mexico Study Abroad program Dreamers
returned to the U.S.
August 21, 2017
Exactly two years ago the California Mexico Studies Center traveled back into the U.S.
with a group of 35 Dreamers who were part of our 5th Dreamers Study Abroad program.
This would be the last group to be able to travel with DACA's Advance Parole. Two weeks
after this photo was taken, DACA was canceled and the government has refused to
approve Advance Parole until now.
Today we are raising funds to allow Dreamers to apply for Advance Parole,
although the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) is currently
denying this benefit, to pressure them and the Department of Homeland Security
(DHS) to follow the court orders that reinstated DACA and to increase the
awareness of Congress about the humanitarian cases and real-life stories behind
Dreamer’s need for Advance Parole.

Given the large amount of applications for our Advance Parole Assistance
Program, the CMSC direly needs your support! Please donate to our Advance
Parole Application Fund Drive for us to continue our advocacy efforts to restore
DACA's Advance Parole and to help as many Dreamers apply for an Advance
Parole permit.

who have contributed to the National Campaign to Restore DACA's Advance
Parole since January 2019. Without your support we would not have been able
to take a total of 50 Dreamers to advocate in Washington, D.C. during our
January and June 2019 advocacy with members of congress.
