CLASSROOM LIBRARY
Classroom Library: As a school we work hard to ensure our students have a variety of high interest text available to them that are age and
grade appropriate. This means including books such as “Harry Potter,” which deals with sorcery; “Goosebumps,” which may frighten some
readers; and “Lemony Snicket,” a series in which three orphaned children try to outsmart an evil distant relative who wants to harm them.
Book choices were made on the considerations of students interest, reading levels, age and grade appropriateness, but not based on the
political, religious, or cultural preferences unique to each family. While we respect each family’s choice on what they want to expose or protect
their child from, that is ultimately a parent or guardian’s responsibility. Please discuss these restrictions and preferences with your child.
Teachers should be informed as well so we can help guide your student in making book choices you are comfortable with.
