2. Equip the students with basic skills necessary in problem solving.
3. Help the students realize that Mathematics plays significant roles in real-life
situations.
4. Develop good study habits in learning Mathematics.
5. Increase San Antonio NHS’s MPS in the National Achievement Test especially in
MATH.
III.RATIONALE
“Quality and effective education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.” One
of the major goals of San Antonio National High School is to provide effective & quality
education to its learners. However, it is not easy to achieve such goal, especially that our
students nowadays have very poor study habits. They get distracted by the different electronic
gadgets (cell phones, iphones, internet games, & etc.). It certainly affects the students’
performance in all learning areas especially in Mathematics.
Based on our assessment, most of our students could not perform the basic and
fundamental operations and processes in Mathematics. It would be a great dilemma on our
part since these skills are prerequisite in problem solving. Also, they find it hard to understand
and analyze simple mathematical problems. Such problems have brought to poor NAT
performance.
To address such problem, the Mathematics Club through its advisers propose a PROJECT
LOVE in Math (Lively, Oral and Valuable Enrichment in Mathematics) which will be implemented
this year and onwards.
The following programs are proposed to be conducted along with the implementation of
the Project LOVE in MATH.

A. SPEED AND ACCURACY PROGRAM : The Recitation of Multiplication Table Challenge

Mechanics:
1. This contest is open to all SANHS students regardless of their grade level.
2. Each interested student shall recite the multiplication table (Table 1 to 10) as fast as he
can without any error.
3. Their time will be recorded. Student who holds the shortest time record for the week
will be declared as weekly winner.
4. All weekly winners are qualified to compete for the monthly winners. Student who holds
the shortest time record for the month will be declared as monthly winner. Monthly
winner will receive a prize and a certificate.
