1. Project Description
Avon Cosmetics Inc, one of the world’s largest direct sellers of cosmetics and beauty-related
items. Ever since Avon unveiled its products more than 125 years ago – the company has found
ways to make direct selling relevant to women. Avon sells products for women but the person
who makes it to the top is no other than a man. Mr. David McConnell started Avon out at
California as a perfume company at the age of 28 in 1886. Later that in 1939 the companies
name was then changed Avon in honor of Mr. McConnell’s favorite playwright William
Shakespeare. The success of Avon came to an opportunity that was a revolutionary concept. It
marked the start of the company’s long and rich history of empowering women around the
globe.

The project team envisions creating a website for (Locale) (provide reasons here)

The site aims to make a brochure for the products of Avon Cosmetics Inc. We also want to
make sure valued costumer of Avon Cosmetics Inc. can have a faster and easier way to browse
products they want whenever or wherever they are.

2. Project Objectives
2.1. General Objective

The main objective of the project is to provide online brochure for the cosmetics Avon
Cosmetics Inc. sell to their valued customers whenever or wherever they are. The site includes
different cosmetic products with their prices and their information. This site helps the customers
to easily choose what they want and to know where the branches of Avon Cosmetics Inc.
located and how to be an Avon Representative.

2.2. Specific Objective

 To promote Avon’s cosmetics and their wholesalers

 To provide information about the Cosmetics Products
 To provide information about Avon Cosmetics Inc.
 Can access the online brochure whenever, wherever they are as long as they have
access to an internet but not through mobile
 Customers can easily be updated when there’s a promo
 Customers will be updated when new products arrived
 Can easily contact the sellers or see the location of the branches and ask questions
about on how to be an Avon Representative by going to the About us Section.

3. Business Case
By building this brochure site, it will help customers to see updates on new products arrived
promos. Customers can see all the cosmetics products by going/clicking the tab “Products”; in
that tab they can see all the products and all of their information. We created this online
brochure so that people in the internet world would sell Avon. To be an Avon Representative
that is one of the world's largest direct sellers. We would like to encourage other people to sell
Avon products. Before Avon customers see their products through magazine commercials and
the like but now with the technology and everything in the World Wide Web it is better to make
Avon Brochure online. An about us tab is included so that they can contact the sellers and can
see where are the branches located in case they want to be one of the representatives of Avon
cosmetics Inc. With Avon, you are in business for yourself but not by yourself. Avon's field
management, as well as your fellow Representatives, provide mentoring, training and support
every step of the way.

Micro blogging sites and facebook pages were also considered as alternatives but were turned
down by the project team due to customization limits of the said sites.

4. Project Requirements
4.1 Hardware Requirements

 Laptop
 Lectures

4.2 Software Requirements

The software requirements specification provides description of all the functions and
specification of the Avon Inc. The expected audiences of this document are the representatives
of Avon Inc. This would serve as a reference for people who check the sites online.

Below is a listing of the software we use:

 Internet Access
 MS Word
 MS Project
 Notepad
 PDF
 Adobe PhotoShop

4.3 Human Resource Requirements

 del Mundo, Krizia Milana G. – Project Manager

 del Rosario, Niňa Joy F. – Web Developer
 Manalo, Marvin – Technical Writer
 Quizon, Vivien Kate P. – QA/Technical Writer
 Ramos, Mary Lanne M. – Web Designer
 Clients (Avon Cosmetics Inc.)

5. Approach
The following details will be implemented for the completion of the project.

 Gather and analyze all necessary information for the completion and improvement of the
website.
 Identify the equipments to be used in designing the website
 Develop cost estimate for the project
 Keep the stakeholders to be informed about the outcome of each project phase
6. Constraints
Constraints are situations or events on the ground that must be considered and accounted, for
which the project has no control over. For example, a constraint can be a hard deadline or
completion date. Other constraints could be resources, tools or hardware -- so that if the project
has no budget for additional servers, then the project must find a way to develop the new
system using the hardware already in place. This could mean juggling servers to fit specific
development environment needs while ensuring that the production environment stays up.

7. Risks
State the known risks. These risks are generally at a high level since not much is known about
the details of the project yet. If a Benefit-Cost Analysis was performed, then risks identified
during the Benefit Cost Analysis should be placed here. For example, if the project is going to
span 5 years and touch multiple third party systems, then integration and technology change
would be risks to consider here. For examples on how to write a risk statement, visit
http://www.pmdocuments.com/category/risk-management/

8. Project Deliverables
Listed below are the key products to be produced as part of the project. Included
are the performance indicators for each expected output. Performance indicators
describe the quality expectations, and the nature and/or content of the deliverable.

Expected Output (deliverable) Performance Indicators

Assign content creation This piece of hardware will be used to transmit

data over telephone or cable lines. It is needed to
connect to the Internet. The modem to be installed
must eliminate the need to install a modem for
each computer.

Coding compilation This device provides security to the network to

prevent unauthorized access from other computer.
Every data that is entering or leaving the network
will pass through the firewall, which filter every
data or message and blocks the data that do not
meet the specified security criteria.

Closing

Final project report This document serves as a project summary. It

includes project objectives, project results
summary, start and end dates, budget and project
estimates, transition plan, measured approach of
annual project benefits. Necessary documents
related to the product and project management
are also attached.

right, the usage of management instruments and
methods, and every members own assessment
base on their experiences on making the project.

9. Project Milestones
Identify the project milestones.

Milestone Date Milestone Name Milestone Description

[Jan 1] System Requirements System requirements version 1.0 are approved and
Complete baselined so that the project can begin design and
development.
[June 1] Development Software development is complete and ready for
Complete integration testing
[Dec 1] Deployed to System passes integration and end-user
Production acceptance testing and is deployed to production

10. Project Manager

Identify the project manager here. It is important to clearly identify the project manager so that
the project manager has the authority to complete the project. Provide a quick professionally
biography if available. Explain as clearly as possible, the roles and responsibilities of the project
manager. Explain the project manager's levels of authority with respect to resource allocation,
schedule modifications and purchasing authority. Review the nine knowledge areas of the
Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and think about the role that the project
manager will fill in each of the areas.

11. Project Roles and Responsibilities

Define the other key roles and responsibilities within the project team. For example, if the
project team has functional team leads, then document them here. The table below provides a
quick way to identify specific people within a role:

Name Role Responsibilities

Jane Smith Risk Management Lead the risk management team to ensure risk
Team Lead identification, analysis and mitigation.
John Smith Testing Lead  Plan and complete testing in all stages of
testing.
 Maintain traceability to requirements to
ensure that all requirements are tested.
 Responsible for testing tools

12. Project Life Cycle Methodology and Tools

Our project will be using the Waterfall Method.

Waterfall is:

 Easy to understand, easy to use

 Provides structures to inexperienced stuff
 Milestones are well understood
 Sets requirements

We’ve defined our project methodology as a waterfall because it has reasonably well-known
requirements like description of the products, license, contact us about us home and gallery.
Our project can be timed-boxed.

High performance is not required because we will make the site user-friendly so that users won’t
have difficulties in using and browsing the site. For example, when navigating the gallery tab,
they will easily browse the products and can pick the product they want.

13. Authorization
Provide the names of those stakeholders that must sign the Project Charter. Once the project
Charter is signed by the project sponsors, the project is authorized to start.
