Enhancements in Fold/Unfold Faces: Now you can fold / unfold stamps across the bend
faces
Enhancements in Wall On Edge: Now you can define a wall on edge using various
options, planes and surfaces as limits. You can also define a wall on edge using a sketch
profile.
Enhancements in Corner Relief: It is now possible to define more than one corner relief in
a single instance. Also you can define corner relieves of three types : Circular, Square
and User Defined.

Recognizing Walls
The various options for recognizing walls are as shown:
V5R17
V5R17
Full Recognition: All the walls that are recognized are
built in the recognized part.
Full Recognition with selected Faces: All the faces are
recognized but only the selected faces are kept in the
final recognized part
Partial Recognition: Only the walls linked to faces
selected in the “Faces to keep” option will be kept in
the recognized part.

Instructor Notes:
Instructor Notes:
The Mirror Function in V5R16 allowed symmetry of only a few features and only one
feature could be mirrored at a time. The Mirror Function in V5R17 allows replication of the
entire part body including all features in the sheet metal part in a single operation.
This reduces the design time considerably for parts which have symmetric features
This also reduces the size of the specification tree, hence simplifying the part structure.

Instructor Notes:
Tear Faces are faces that are identified during Mirror operation, where ambiguity
results in case of unfolding of the part . On declaring the tear faces, you can unfold
the part using the corresponding edges as ‘Unfold Lines’ Selected

Instructor Notes:
When you mirror the part and select the tear face, there are three possible result cases:
