ABSTRACT
The study was guided with the following statement of the problem: to
determine the extent of classroom management of students in JHS, to
determine the extent of learning attitude of Junior High School students, to
determine the relationship between classroom management and learning
attitude of JHS, and to determine the significant relationship of classroom
management and learning attitude of the students. This research study
benefited the teachers since it provided them a better understanding and basis
for awareness of how the classroom management affects the learning attitude
of their students. This investigation also helped the students to adapt to the
effective managing of the classroom strategy that would benefit them in the
development of a positive attitude towards their study and sustain the level of
interaction and cooperation that was engendered between students and
teachers.
The researchers used a descriptive type of research in conducting the
study. The research design was made through the use of survey questionnaire
to gather data, arranged and described to answer the questions.
The population and sample used for this study consist of junior high
school and limited it to grade seven and grade nine students in ND-SCT. There
is a total of 180 students from grades 7 and 9 which the sample size of 124 is
selected using the Slovin formula. A breakdown of this figure shows that 30
vi
students are drawn from each sections of grade 7 and 32 students are drawn
from each sections of grade 9
The needed data was gathered through the use of survey-questionnaire. The
data will be rated through the use of Likert rating scale. In processing of data,
mean was used for the problem numbers one (1) and (2). For statement of the
problem numbers three (3) and four (4), multiple correlation coefficient was
used for the manipulation.
The computed grand mean prior to classroom management resulted to
4.2 which connotes “Very good”. The result implies that classroom
management is satisfactorily facilitated. The attained grand mean of learning
attitude was 4.0 which interprets “Good”. The computed result indicates that
learning attitude is regenerated by classroom management of the students. The
computed value is greater than the tabulated value aground to reject null
hypothesis. Therefore, it is valid to claim that there is significant relationship
between classroom management and learning attitude of JHS students that is
supported by the computed value of 1.8586 and critical value of -1.58 at level
of significance .05.The proposed recommendations were to sustain the ways
and techniques of school administrators and teachers to maintain the
classroom management more effective by establishing and sustaining an
orderly environment in the classroom and to emphasize appropriate behaviors
in implementing rules and regulations for the students to acquire positive
learning attitude.
