Compliance
• FOH has the knowledge and expertise to ensure that your agency meets all environmental regulatory
mandates.
Federal agencies, like private industries, must comply with all Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
requirements as well as state, tribal, and local regulations. The EPA’s standard for Federal compliance
holds that Federal facility environmental compliance should equal or exceed the rest of the regulatory
community and that Federal facilities should lead the way in minimizing environmental contamination
As such, Federal agencies are expected to develop sound environmental programs that will not only
ensure long-term compliance, but will also act proactively and set goals for pollution prevention and
waste minimization. Additionally, agencies must have provisions in place for the quick clean up of
(TSCA), and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) has placed an increased burden on Federal
agencies and increased the workload associated with environmental programs. The law that has had the
greatest impact upon Federal facilities is the Federal Facility Compliance Act (FFCA). This law requires Federal
facilities to comply with all applicable Federal, State, interstate, and local solid and hazardous waste
requirements.
FOH’s can help your agency’s environmental compliance personnel develop highly effective environmental
protection programs. FOH’s professionals can help clarify legal requirements by providing comprehensive
studies that will determine the effects your agency’s developmental projects will have on surrounding
environments. The assessments will evaluate the potential impact to air, water, soil, flora and fauna, as well
as demographics.
