ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir
MVIT) is an Institute of repute in the state of
Karnataka founded by Sri Krishnadevaraya
Educational Trust (Sri KET) in 1986. The institute
offers 9 B.E. degree programs in Civil, ME, EEE, EC,
CSE, IEM, TE, IS and BT and 4 Masters Programs in
Computer Applications, Business Administration,
Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Electronics.
Sir MVIT is also having the research facility leads to
6 Ph.D degree in departments. The centers of
excellence in Sir MVIT are involved in active
research works in various domains. The Institute is
affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University
and approved by All India Council for Technical
Education, New Delhi and is accredited by National
Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. Sir MVIT is an
ISO 9001:2008 Certified Institution. Sir MVIT is
NAAC Accredited with B++ Grade.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Department of EEE was established in the year 1987.
The department offers four-year UG program (B.E).
The department looked upon as a centre of excellence
in the institute. The department offers a stimulating
environment for the students to execute their project
works. The department has sound infrastructure with
well-facilitated laboratories and classrooms. The
department has well experienced faculties with
diverse specializations and the core competency is
mainly in the area of power system, power electronics
and industrial drives, digital signal processing,
distributed generation systems, etc. The Department
was recognized as R & D centre by VTU in the year
2002 and has successfully completed major projects
funded by CPRI and VTU.
ABOUT THE FEP
With fast emergence of disruptive technologies and
expansion of digitization, higher education, in general
and technical/professional education in particular, are
increasing passing through challenging times. By any
yardstick, engineering education must lead to
wholesomeness in terms of career shaping,
contributing to industry/society and making happier
lives. In order to attain this fete, beyond meaningfully
overhauling the syllabi towards Industry Revolution
4.0, existing teaching and learning methodologies
need to be adapted for google era. Teaching,
expressly, must adapt contemporary learner centric
approaches and evolve through unlearning and re-
learning. etc.,
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
➢ To demonstrate the changing paradigms in
teaching engineering programs in Google era.
➢ To equip teachers with desired tools and traits
for today’s classrooms.
➢ To acknowledge the value of active learning
based teaching practices
PROGRAM OUTCOME
At the end of the program, the Faculty members will
be able to
➢ Differentiate conventional or traditional
engineering teaching with student centric
teaching: improvise conventional teaching
skills via unlearning and relearning
➢ Enhance student’s interests and engagement in
the classroom and beyond
➢ Bring up their motivational levels and translate
it in form of motivated students
➢ Build constructive communication skills
