1 Program description
The Rittal Power Engineering software can be used to configure and calculate power
distribution systems of the types

• RiLine60 busbar configuration

• Ri4Power Form 1-4 low-voltage switchgear
• Ri4Power Form1 ISV distribution enclosure

accurately down to the article level. Orders can then be created for the systems configured.
Detailed graphical overviews can be output for documentation purposes and exported for
third-party systems.
It is possible to generate contract tender texts and generate data for import in EPLAN P8.

1.1 Installation

1.1.1 General notes

‫ڍ‬
Make sure that you are logged in as a local administrator since setup requires
administrative rights.
Start the setup program from the CD.
Follow the setup instructions.
You may have to restart the computer after installation.
The installation and deinstallation program is available in several languages – German,
English and French. The language must be selected during installation.
Thereafter you can log in as a user.
The user requires read access to the user data path (usually: "C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\PowerEngineering50 with Windows XP" or
"C:\Users\Public\Documents\PowerEngineering50" with Windows Vista and Windows 7)
and its subdirectories since, for example, the databases, projects, import/export files and
configuration file are located in these directories. It must be possible to modify these files
when the application is running.
The access rights in this directory are set to "All" by default, but it is advisable to check this.

1.1.2 Setup

The installation and deinstallation program (setup.exe) is available in several languages –

German, English and French. The language is selected in the first selection box during
installation.

Next, information about your PC is collected in preparation of the installation.

愐/

Then the setup start screen is displayed:

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

Installation creates a program directory chosen by the user. The default directory is
"C:\Programs\Rittal\PowerEngineering 5.0", but this may be changed by the user to any
directory desired.

If the specified directory does not exist, it is created.

Further directories are created beneath the selected installation directory:

...\ PowerEngineering 5.0\Documents

...\ PowerEngineering 5.0\Drawings
...\ PowerEngineering 5.0\Program
...\ PowerEngineering 5.0\Pictures

The user data path (usually: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents"
with Windows XP or "C:\Users\Public\Documents\PowerEngineering50" with Windows Vista
and Windows 7) contains files that can be changed, and the following folders are installed in
this path:

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

...\ PowerEngineering50\Data
...\ PowerEngineering50\ImportExport
...\ PowerEngineering50\Projects
...\ PowerEngineering50\LOG

All files are installed locally.

The following screen prompts you to start the installation process.

The next screen shows the progress of the installation process.

At the end of the installation routine, an information screen shows whether or not the
software installation was successful. You may also be prompted to restart the computer.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

1.1.3 Software registration

You can register the software by clicking on the "Software registration" menu item in the
"Info" menu.
When the installation is complete, you will be prompted to register as the user of the
software. To enable full support by our support
‫پ‬ personnel, we recommend that you register
online.
Premium advantages are:
• Free update
• Free receipt of system information
• Free software support
You can also register at a later point in time by clicking on the "Software registration" menu
item in the "Info" menu.

1.2 Deinstallation

Deinstallation removes all the files, directories and registry entries except the .NET
framework because it is impossible to ascertain whether or not this application is used by
other programs.

Note:
If files or directories exist in an installed folder which were not installed by the application,
these are not deleted for safety reasons. In this case, the installed directories cannot be
deleted because they still contain files and subdirectories.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

1.3 Startup settings

Following installation, the user must make some settings and enter some data ("Extras"
main menu, "Options" menu) which will be frequently used by the program. This includes:

- Contact information
- Processor
- Delivery address
- Invoice address
- Rittal contact
- Price calculation
- Language settings
- Directories and export
- General

Following installation, the master data is installed but does not contain prices and assembly
times. You must import the current Rittal price list for price updating ("Extras" main menu,
"Interfaces" menu).
The assembly times are to be individually set (they are not predefined by Rittal). To facilitate
processing, the assembly times of the master data articles can be exported, edited and then
屐т
read back in via the import function.

1.4 Update functionality for software and data

Normally, the program searches for available program and data updates whenever it is
started and when an Internet connection is established. The automatic search at program
start can be disabled in the options (see chapter 1.10.1 of this document).
If an update is found, the following message appears:

If you click on "Yes", the update is downloaded and then automatically started. If you click
on "No", no action is taken. If you click on "Never ask again", no action is taken and the
search for updates is no longer automatically performed.
To make sure that users without administrator rights can also update Power Engineering,
the update is started by a service. This service is set up during the installation of Power
Page 14 of 169
Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

Engineering. Once you have downloaded the update, this service starts the update. This
process is shown here for the Windows 7 operating system (the procedure for Windows
Vista is virtually identical; under Windows XP, the update appears immediately after
downloading).
The Windows taskbar indicates that an interactive service has been detected.

After clicking on the icon, the following information is displayed:

罰յ

Select "Display message" to proceed to the security desktop. This is where the update
program appears. You can also return to the Windows desktop from here.

Start the update procedure by clicking on the Start button in the Rittal Power Engineering
updater. The Power Engineering update process is initiated.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

If required, the update modifies program components and/or database contents. A file
named "VersionHistory.txt" is stored in the application's installation directory. This file
contains the history of program extensions, changes and updates. Moreover, a log of the
updates performed is stored in a subdirectory named "UpdateLogs" as a text file with time
stamps.
When the update has been completed, this is indicated on the closing screen, which must
be acknowledged by clicking on "Exit".
Then the update window disappears, and you can return to the Windows desktop by
clicking on "Return now".

罰յ

The update has been performed. Restart Power Engineering.

1.5 Printer settings

The currently selected Windows standard printer is used to print out reports and drawings.
At least one printer driver must be installed to allow report printing.

1.6 Screen settings

The user interface is designed for a screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels. It is possible to
use other resolutions. If a lower resolution is chosen, horizontal and vertical scroll bars are
shown since not all the information can be displayed on the screen at once.

1.7 General operator interface information

The user interface adheres to Microsoft Windows standards, i.e. it has

- a text-based menu bar

- one or several menu bars with buttons/icons
- a desktop

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

All objects on the user interface are context-sensitive, i.e. their number and function change
according to the program functionality. If the there is not enough space on the screen to
show all objects, horizontal and vertical scroll bars are displayed.

The project processing interface is similar to the Microsoft Windows Explorer. On the left
side, the project tree with the associated systems and enclosures is displayed. The data
corresponding to the node selected is displayed on the right side. Each node may have a
context menu (right mouse click). All subitems of the context menu are also available via the
main menu. Important functions, e.g. those used to print a parts list/order list, are assigned
to special buttons with icons.

鷐̾

1.8 Menu structure

酠‫ڗ‬

The main menu is always displayed while the program is running. Some menu items are
context-sensitive and may be deactivated in certain circumstances.
The Outputs menu is only visible if a project has been opened.

1.9 "File" main menu

1.9.1 "New project" menu item

Creates a new project file with a name to be chosen by the user.

酠‫ڗ‬

The default directory proposed is the "Projects" directory, but this may be changed as
desired under Options/Path settings. Contrary to V1.0, no distinction is made between the
two system types before project selection. The file name selected corresponds to the
project name.
The new project subsequently appears in the project tree.

1.9.2 "Open project" menu item

Opens an existing project:

뎀լ

The default directory proposed is the "Projects" directory, but this may be changed as
desired under Options/Path settings. The selected project subsequently appears in the
project tree.
When a project is opened, a backup copy of the project is created. For this purpose, a copy
with the file name extension ".RPEBAK" is created in the folder that contains the original
project.
If the original project is destroyed or corrupted, Rittal Power Engineering accesses the
backup copy.
Only the last project status before the project is opened is saved.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

1.9.3 "Restore project" menu item

This menu item can be used to restore the status from before the last open/load operation
for the currently open project. Please note that all changes made since the last open/load
operation are then lost. Once you have confirmed the warning, the project is closed and its
previous status is restored.

1.9.4 "Save project as" menu item

The currently open project can be saved under a different name. The project name for the
copy is preset to "Copy of" plus the current name of the project file, but this may be
changed as desired.

뎀լ

Note:
This menu item is only active when a project has been opened.
A project can also be saved with the context menu on the project node (right mouse button -
> click – Save as; cf. 2.1.2).
The copy of the current project can be opened and edited just like any other project.

1.9.5 "Close project" menu item

Closes the currently open project.

1.9.6 "Last projects" menu item

The maximum number of projects available here is four previously edited projects. These
projects can be selected and opened directly without having to use the file selection
dialogue.

1.9.7 "Exit" menu item

Exits the application. If a project is open, it is closed before the program is exited.

1.10 "Extras" menu item

1.10.1 "Options" menu item

This is where user-specific program settings can be selected/entered:

1.10.2.1 Export
All exports are exported in the Microsoft Excel format. This format can be read in, e.g. in
Excel, for further processing, and is the basis for the corresponding import function.
The following master data can be exported:
- Rittal articles for editing of assembly times

- All non-Rittal articles

- Prices of non-Rittal articles

- Assembly times of non-Rittal articles

When the non-Rittal articles are exported, a distinction can be made between all
manufacturers or a selected manufacturer. If the data of all non-Rittal articles are exported,
this data can be removed from the system after the export.

覰Џ

Note:
Project-related data, such as parts lists, EPLAN data, etc., may be generated when
processing an open project.

1.10.2.2 Import
All imports require Microsoft Excel format files. The corresponding export files may be used
as a format template. To simplify the import of non-Rittal articles, an Excel format template
may be created to define the expected data structure of the of non-Rittal articles.
The following master data can be imported:
- Rittal price list

- Assembly times of Rittal articles

- All non-Rittal articles

- Prices of non-Rittal articles

- Assembly times of non-Rittal articles

The current prices for calculating the connector kit prices can be imported for the connector
kit configurator by selecting Connector kit configurator price list.

Note:
覰Џ for the connector kit configurator can be

obtained in digital form from the local Rittal sales office or from Product Management.
Please note that the regular price lists for import cannot be used because they do not
permit correct price generation in the software. The required price list is customised
specifically for the Rittal Power Engineering software.

When performing the Rittal price list import, the following fields in Power Engineering are
updated:

• Price per pack

• Packs of
• Piece price is determined
• Weight
• EAN
• Copper weight in kg per piece
• Copper base value
• Designation 1

‫ڍ‬
The master data in the system serves as the basis for price determination when creating the
parts lists and order lists and may be adapted by the user. The available data is shown in
an overview screen which is prefiltered by a manufacturer.

1.10.4.1 Filter by manufacturer

The preset filter for the manufacturer is "Rittal". If other manufacturers are available, these
can be selected in the manufacturer filter.

1.10.4.2 Sorting of data displayed

The data displayed can be sorted in ascending order by the article number, Designation 1,
Designation 2 or Designation 3. The default setting for sorting is by the article number.

Note:
When you first change the sorting to a designation column, all designation texts are newly
assigned. Depending on computer performance, this may take a moment. Subsequently,
the sorting may be changed anytime without this short delay.

1.10.4.3 Searching in the sort column

It is possible to search for special strings in the column currently used for sorting. It is not
necessary to enter special characters like *, % or ?. All records that contain the search term
(even if only partially), are found.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

Example: You are looking for article numbers that contain the string "1100". For example,
the search finds the articles with the following numbers:
1100257
3411000
3581100
9641100
9651100

It is possible to change existing Rittal articles, to create new and change Rittal special
article numbers and to add or change articles from other manufacturers.

1.10.4.4.1 Adding new Rittal articles

New Rittal articles (Rittal special articles) can only be added to a limited extent since the
complete article master for Maxi-PLS and퀐ISV ճ is already available. As soon as "Rittal" is
selected as the manufacturer, article numbers can only be selected from a specific range of
article numbers. These special numbers are:

If one of these article numbers is selected, you can enter data in additional fields,
particularly the article designations 1 to 3, for a more detailed article description. If the
article is stored by clicking on the "Accept" button, the system searches for the next free
article number, which is composed of the selected article number and a sequential number.

Example:
The article 9640099 was selected and stored. So far, no article has been created under this
number. The new article number is 9640099_1. The next article number would be
9640099_2, etc.

Once a new Rittal article has been saved, it is marked in the list.

Note: ዠЖ
The special enclosure drawings are stored in the "...\ApplicationName\CustomerDrawings"
directory and can be individually adapted. Be sure not to change the size (height/width) of
the enclosure; such changes in size might cause overlaps in the system display/drawing.

1.10.5.1 Importing special enclosures

When importing special enclosures, all files (ZIP format) in the
"...\ApplicationName\ImportExport" directory are shown. When you have selected a file, the
file structure within the ZIP file is checked. If the structure is OK and the version number
identical to that of the application, the special enclosure is stored in the master data. If a
special enclosure of the same name already exists, a counter (sequential number) is
appended to the name for distinction (e.g. EmptyEnc -> EmptyEnc1).

The drawing of the special enclosure is stored in the

"...\ApplicationName\CustomerDrawings" directory under the same name with the file suffix
"DWG" (e.g. EmptyEnc1.DWG).

1.10.5.2 Exporting special enclosures

Special enclosures can be exported if they are to be made available to other users. Once
you have selected the export function, you must decide on whether only the selected
special enclosure or all special enclosures is/are to be exported. A ZIP file with the name of
the special enclosure is created in the "...\ApplicationName\ImportExport" directory. This
ZIP file contains the required data and the drawing of the enclosure.

Project volume:
When entering the project volume, the entire volume of the project should be considered,
i.e. not just the volume of the project database in question. This is of particular importance
for discount determination. The volume registered is compared to the globally set discount
levels during price determination in order to determine the discount that is possible (see
chapter 1.10.1).

Click on the "Calculate cur. volume" button to determine the current volume of the project
without discounts.

When you click on this button, the calculated volume is displayed as a tip text for this
button.

Processor:
A processor can be assigned to the project. The processors stored in the user-specific
settings of the program (see chapter 1.10.1) are available for selection. The processor is
output in the "Parts list" and "Orders" reports
쳠կ
and in the drawing header.

Comments:
It is possible to enter comments for the project. Comments are optional entries and are not
output/printed.

Orders:
This is where project orders are created, edited and printed. For further details, see chapter
6.

The "Customer" tab is used to enter the customer-specific contact data of the project.

The parts list is output:

• cumulative or non-cumulative
• with or without prices
• with or without assembly times
Note:
Since the prices are subject to the discount scale, which, in turn, depends on the project
volume, the project volume defined in the global project information is displayed for
information. The defined project volume can be set for the project in question using the
global project information tab (see chapter 2.3).
The project-related daily copper quotation is displayed when the price calculation with
copper surcharge calculation is activated in the options.

The current copper quote can be researched on the Internet by clicking on the
"Aktuelle Kupfertagesnotierung nach DEL" (Current copper quote from DEL) hyperlink.

Click on the "OK" button to create the parts list. A preview of the parts list is displayed.
쳠կ

The cumulative und non-cumulative lists are maintained in a common document with a
"cumulative parts list" worksheet and one worksheet per system. The system designations
are retained in the exported parts list.

The report can be printed via the "Print" button. Use the "Save" button to export the
currently displayed project parts list to an Excel file for further processing.

The cumulative parts list contains the following additional information:

- File name and path
- Creation date
- Price list used
- Daily copper quotation used
- System price + metal surcharge
- Order price + metal surcharge
- Copper weight (kg)

- The price difference between the

2.5 Outputting calls for tenders

Contract tender texts for a selected system can be generated in the MS WinWord or GAEB
format (MS WinWord Office 2000 or more recent version).
These texts can only be generated when the system accessories have been generated for
the system (green dot to the left of the system, i.e. completely configured).
The tender can be created either for a system or a single enclosure. To make your
selection, position the cursor on a system or an enclosure and then click on the icon in
the context or function menu in the upper bar.

Once you have selected MS WinWord as the interface, you are prompted for the directory
and file name for the MS WinWord file to be created. Enter the desired file name.
This initiates generation. Please do not type on the keyboard or click with the mouse while
generation takes place. When generation is complete, you can call up and view the
document and edit if for further use.

The tender is structured according to enclosures. The system is assigned the main position
01.
The sequence of the enclosures is from the left to the right of a configured system, with a
sequentially numbered second position (01.01,
‫ڐ‬ 01.02 etc.) assigned to each enclosure.
If an enclosure contains modules, these are output from the bottom left to the top right with
a sequentially numbered third position (01.01.01, 01.01.02, etc.).
If additional articles were associated with an enclosure, these are also output using a
sequentially numbered third position (01.01.01, 01.01.02, etc.).

2.6 Output mounting aid

For Form 1-4 low-voltage systems, mounting aids can be displayed and printed for each
enclosure. The purpose of the mounting aid for an enclosure is to assist you in assembling
the configured parts and parts to be used.

2.7 EPLAN interface

If the EPLAN version EPLAN electric P8 was installed on the target system prior to the
installation of Rittal Power Engineering version 3.0 or later, a module to support the data
exchange between Rittal Power Engineering and EPLAN P8 is installed by Rittal Power
Engineering.
This module enables data and graphics for a system to be read into EPLAN. (For
installation of interface, see chapter 1.10.1.2.)
To prepare for this, data must be exported from Rittal Power Engineering. This data is then
accessed by an EPLAN import interface.
EPLAN automatically detects the directory to which the export from Rittal Power
Engineering takes place. This directory can be changed in Rittal Power Engineering; see
chapter 1.10.1 Options menu item – directories and export.

When exporting a system, Rittal Power Engineering creates a directory with the project
name (name of the project file RPE) in the defined export path.
All articles and assemblies of the project that will be a part of the EPLAN component
catalogue are exported to this directory in an XML file. The user may specify an article
number prefix (manufacturer identifier) to identify the article number in EPLAN. This
manufacturer identifier is prepended to each article number in the export. The manufacturer
‫ڐ‬
identifier can be changed; see chapter 1.10.1 "Options menu item – directories and export".
Underneath the project directory, a separate directory with the system names is created for
each system exported. System-related data and graphics are exported to this directory. For
each enclosure of a system,
- a text file in the csv format with the article information is created.
- a drawing in the dwg format for the interior view of an enclosure is created.
- if available, a drawing in the dwg format for the exterior view of an
enclosure is created.

Exports of Rittal Power Engineering data and graphics are possible for a system whose
configuration has been completed (system accessories have been generated, green dot
next to the system name in the project structure).
To initiate the export, select the system to be exported in the project tree by clicking with the
mouse, thereby marking the system. Open the CAD view of the system and click on the
"EPLAN export" button.

Once you have created a new project or opened an existing one, you can add as many
systems to the project as desired. Each system is defined by your system-global
parameters, which are taken into account when the enclosure parts lists are generated later
on.
Each system may consist of 1..n enclosures. Each enclosure must be configured.
Subsequently the parts list can be displayed/edited. Once enclosure configuration is
completed, the system accessories must be generated. Then an order can be created and
completed for this system.

3.1.1 General RiLine60 options

When a RiLine60 project is first started, you can set general options.
An options wizard is started, which prompts for the parameters.
Always open the wizard via the "Extras – Options – Products – RiLine60" menu.
You can also set the wizard to be started whenever a new RiLine60 system is created by
activating the option in the "Wizard" tab.

쳠կ

This is where you define which busbar profiles are to be used.

If you select "Always ask", you are prompted for the type with every configuration. If you
choose another option, this prompt is suppressed during configuration, and the type set
here is configured.

Power Engineering 6.1

‫ڐ‬

The technical data of the system is to be set individually and is directly used as parameters
in the configuration of the rails and components and to generate the parts list.
Enter a system name without special characters.
By clicking on a market area symbol, you set the system for configuration based on the
required standards (IEC / UL).
Enter the dimensional requirements for the enclosures and define the protection category of
the side panels. Select the roof plate settings. If you select "Prompt per enclosure", the type
is queried for each enclosure configuration. If you select a type, the query is suppressed for
each enclosure configuration, and the type set here is configured.

Additional settings:
Flat bar copper calculation:
You can select for all flat copper busbar systems whether the flat copper is to be purchased
from Rittal or whether you want to supply it yourself (also see chapter 3.1.4 Flat bar copper
calculation).

Power Engineering 6.1

Rated output/power loss calculation:

Here you can select whether or not the rated output/power loss calculation is to be activated
for this system.

Note:
Subsequent activation is not possible because no currents are queried in the deactivated
mode; however, these are required for rated output/power loss calculation.

Once you have entered all parameters, please click on CONTINUE.

‫ڐ‬

Here you select the system accessories for enclosure lighting and enclosure heating and
define the version of the door locks and enclosure divider panels.
If you select "Prompt per enclosure", the type is queried for each enclosure configuration. If
you select a type, the query is suppressed for each enclosure configuration, and the type
set here is configured.

For roof plates and enclosure lighting, selection via graphics is available as an alternative
("Selection via images" button).

Complete the definition of system globals with "Finish".

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

When a system has been added, the system is marked in the project tree, and the system-
global parameters appear in the editing window. The "System" tab is selected.

Click on the tabs to switch to the enclosure configuration function or CAD view of the
system.

3.1.4 Flat bar copper calculation

For all flat copper bars it is possible to only determine the copper quantities. The copper
material is added up separately for each of the cross-sections:
30x5mm
30x10mm
40x10mm
50x10mm
60x10mm
80x10mm
‫ڐ‬
100x10mm
120x10mm
These bars are managed as articles under the "MyCompany" brand. The article numbers
used in "MyCompany" are Cu + copper dimension. This means that these articles can also
be priced using an external article import. Copper weight, weight, base metal and price can
be edited. The pack size is 1 m. If copper calculation was desired, the result for the
enclosure is included in the enclosure parts list, for the system in the system parts list and
for the project in the project parts list.

3.1.5 Deleting a system

A marked system can be deleted in 2 different ways:

• using the delete symbol in the menu (icons)
• using the context menu of the system (right mouse button -> click)

3.1.6 Copying a system

A copy of a marked system can be created in the same project. Thera are two alternative
ways to do this:
• using the copy symbol in the menu (icons)
• using the context menu of the system (right mouse button -> click)

3.1.7 Creating documentation for a RiLine60 system

Once the RiLine60 system has been selected in the project tree, you can use the Print
button in the menu bar or the context menu of the system selected in the project tree to
generate the documentation for this system.

See section 1.11.1 System documentation.

3.1.8 Adding an enclosure to a system

Mark a system in the project tree and then select the "Enclosures" tab in the editing window.
In the upper part of the editing window there is a list of all enclosure types that are available.

沠ն
These are (from left to right):
• Empty enclosure with busbar system
• Empty enclosure without busbars
• Special enclosure

Note:
Each symbol has a tip text. As soon as the mouse cursor comes to rest over a symbol, this
tip text is displayed.

You add an enclosure to the system using "drag & drop" on an enclosure from the list of all
enclosures available, i.e. you drag it to the system view of the selected enclosures and drop
it there. The enclosure is inserted in the position of the system where it is placed, i.e. it can
also be inserted between enclosures already selected.

3.1.8.1 Adding a special enclosure to a system

If a special enclosure is added in the system view using "drag & drop", a selection dialogue
with all special enclosures of the system appears.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

沠ն
The available special enclosures are prefiltered using the system global enclosure depth
since only this is applicable to the current system.

Note:
The "Enclosure type" column displays the description of the enclosure type on the basis of
which this special enclosure was created and adapted.

Once a special enclosure has been marked in the list, the "OK" button is enabled. Click on
the "OK" button to add the special enclosure to the system.

Note:
All the data (configuration parameters / busbar systems / devices / parts list) and the image
of the special enclosure are displayed. The configuration of the special enclosure cannot be
changed. However, the parts list can be individually adapted.

3.1.9 Moving/copying a system enclosure

Enclosures can be moved or copied within a system or between two systems. To do this,
mark an enclosure in the project tree and drag it to the desired position within the desired
system using "drag & drop". Confirm the safety prompt. "Copy" or "Move" executes the
desired operation. The status of the system may change as a result of a copy or move
operation.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

Moves within a system are not just possible in the project tree but also in the system view of
the selected enclosures. Here, the enclosures can also be moved or copied using "drag &
drop".

Note:
When moving or copying enclosures to another system, the system globals are compared
to check whether the desired insertion is possible.
Insertion is only possible for technically identical systems.

An enclosure can also be copied via the context menu or the "Copy enclosure" menu icon.

3.1.10 Deleting a system enclosure

Marked enclosures can be deleted in 3 different ways:

• using the delete symbol in the menu (icons)

• using the context menu of an enclosure (right mouse button -> click)
• using "drag & drop" in the system view of the selected enclosures.
沠ն
Select the enclosure to be deleted and drop it somewhere outside the system
view.

3.1.11 Configuring a system enclosure

The parameter to be set is displayed as a text and the associated parameter values in the
沠ն
upper part of the configurator. Select one of the available parameters by marking it. The
selected value is transferred to the lower list by clicking on the "Accept parameter" button.

Note:
To speed up processing, it is also possible to directly select and accept a parameter by
double-clicking on it.

Once all parameters have been specified, the "Create parts list" button is activated. Click on
this button to create the parts list. The configurator switches to the parts list view (new
"Parts list" tab).

Click on the "CAD view" tab to display the currently configured enclosure in a CAD view.

Note:
Parameters already accepted can be displayed and changed at any time. To do this,
double-click on the desired parameter in the lower parameter list. The parameter is loaded
in the upper list along with the other values that are available. If this parameter is accepted
by clicking on the "Accept parameter" button, a message indicating that all subsequent
parameters are deleted is displayed. Further processing is analogous to the above
description.

insulation. Click on "Continue" to proceed to the busbar system selection in the configurator.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

Once you have selected the desired busbar system and clicked on "Select busbar system",
the application is in placement mode.
The selected busbar system is attached to the mouse pointer and can be dropped at the
desired position in the current enclosure. An automatic check determines whether the
selected position is valid. Prerequisites are,
沠ն for example, that there is no other busbar
system or a cable duct under the new busbar system and that the position is on the
mounting plate.

The coordinates in the status line also help you position the busbar system.
Once the busbar system has been dropped at the selected location, the application
automatically switches to the drag mode used to graphically define the length of the busbar
system. Click to complete busbar system definition and placement.
Note the available drag directions for the three busbar system alignments that are possible:
Horizontal alignment: only dragging to the right is possible
Page 77 of 169

Vertical alignment with the position of the L1 to the left: only dragging towards the top is
possible
Vertical alignment with the position of the L1 to the right: only dragging towards the bottom
is possible
The busbar system placement action can be interrupted at any time by pressing the Escape
(ESC) key.

If a busbar system is dragged close enough to the right edge of the mounting plate or
beyond this position into the enclosure margin, a prompt appears, asking whether the
busbar system should be continued in the next enclosure.

沠ն

If the answer to the prompt is "Yes", the busbar system is automatically extended exactly to
the enclosure margin and is marked in the next enclosure for selection if a continuation is
selected from there. If the answer to the prompt is "No", the busbar system is extended or
shortened to the margin of the mounting plate.

Busbar systems can be deleted by clicking on them and then pressing the Delete key.
However, you must first delete any components placed on the busbar system before you
can do this.

3.1.13.2 Continuing a RiLine60 busbar system from the enclosure to the left
This allows you to continue a busbar system from the enclosure to the left. All
busbar systems in the enclosure to the left which can be continued are marked. Note
that a busbar system must be dragged to the right enclosure margin to permit
continuation in the adjoining enclosure. If busbar systems are available for
continuation in the enclosure to the left and if one of them is selected by clicking on it, the
application automatically switches the selected busbar system in the current enclosure to
the drag mode. Only the length of the busbar system can be defined by dragging; the
vertical position is predefined by the system.

‫ڇ‬

Once you have selected the desired cable duct and clicked on "Finish", the application is in
placement mode.

The selected cable duct is attached to the mouse pointer and can be dropped at the desired
position in the current enclosure. An automatic check determines whether the selected
position is valid. Prerequisites are, for example, that there is no busbar system or another
cable duct under the new cable duct and that the position is on the mounting plate.
The coordinates in the status line also help you position the busbar system.
Once the cable duct has been dropped at the selected location, the application
automatically switches to the drag mode used to graphically define the length of the cable
duct. Click to complete cable duct definition and placement.
Note the available drag directions for the two cable duct alignments that are possible:

which the additional heat sources can be listed and where values can be assigned
to them.

3.1.14 Configuration and placement of components and adaptors

Components can be configured and placed on selected busbar systems. To do this, you
must select the Component configuration tab.

To activate and select a component, a busbar must be selected (marked) for placements.
The only exception from this is the NHM fuse switch disconnector for mounting plate
assembly, which can only be placed directly on the mounting plate.
If the placed busbar systems require busbar supports that are not suitable for top mounting,
these are displayed in the component configuration. Busbar supports are placed
automatically when the busbar system is configured and when components are placed.

3.1.14.2 Configuration and placement of a component on a busbar

The configuration of the individual components is similar for all components and is shown
here using the CA connection adaptor as an example.
Click on the button to start the configurator for the selected component in the lower screen
area.

The configuration of the selected component is performed by selecting the required

parameters in the configurator. Once all parameters required have been selected, the
component appears in the configurator and can be placed on the selected busbar by
clicking on the drawing. For this purpose, the selected busbar system is shown enlarged,
and the component can be placed.

A correction to the correct vertical position on the busbar system takes place automatically.
If the component is placed close enough to a busbar support or previously placed
component, the new component is placed correctly on the existing component or busbar
support (docked on). When placement is finished, the screen for rated current and power
loss input may appear. This screen does not appear for passive components and if the
rated current and power loss calculation has been disabled in the system globals.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

Once a component has been placed, the busbar supports are recalculated if necessary,
and their position is corrected. This may cause components already placed at the end of the
busbar system to "drop out". These components are then in the "pool for lost components"
(see chapter 3.1.14.3).
The value entered for the operating current can be corrected at a later point in time by
clicking on the "Change" button in the info panel (see chapter 3.1.14.4 Info panel).

3.1.14.3 Lost components

‫ڇ‬
Button to display the pool for lost components.

Due to the automatic rearrangement of busbar supports, e.g. by placing a component in the
middle of the busbar system, it may happen that previously placed components can no
longer be shifted or will no longer fit. These components are automatically added to the
"pool for lost components".
This pool includes all lost components of all busbar systems of all enclosures in the current
system.
The components are listed in a list box and are shown as a graphic (on the right) when
selected. A selected component can be placed on a bar once more from here – provided
that a bar is selected.

The placement of the selected component is based on the same conditions and
prerequisites that apply to the placement or relocation of new components.

3.1.14.4 Info panel

If a bar or adaptor is marked in the "Component configuration" view, its parameters are
displayed in the info panel at bottom right.
View for bars: View for adaptors/components:

If the operating current and power loss calculation is activated, the operating current and
power loss are shown for an adaptor. You can click on the "Change" button to change the
operating current; the operating currents and power loss are recalculated for the entire
system.

3.1.15 Editing an enclosure parts list

Once the configuration of the enclosure is complete and the parts list has been created, the
parts list can be edited.

The parts list is displayed in two areas:

• The upper area shows the generated parts list based on the configuration.
Here, you can adjust the number and the assembly times independent of the
master data. It is not possible to delete articles from the parts list as a matter
of principle. When you set the quantity to 0, the corresponding article
numbers are not deleted but will no longer be included in a subsequent
order. An article can be copied to the individual parts list of the same or
another enclosure by marking the article in the parts list and selecting "Copy"
with the right mouse button. If you then click in an individual parts list with the
right mouse button and select "Paste", the article is inserted.
• Click on the "Print" button to print the enclosure parts list (see chapter
3.1.15.1).
• The parts list can be supplemented by the user in the lower area. To do this,
click on the "Add" button. The "Parts list processing article selection"
dialogue appears.

This dialogue is quite similar to the "Master data" dialogue (see chapter 1.10.4).
‫ڇ‬

To add an article to the parts list, mark it in the list, specify the quantity and click on the
"Add" button.

The article is displayed and selected in the parts list in the lower area. The quantity value
and the assembly time value can be changed.

The articles in the generated parts list can be copied to the individual parts list in the lower
area of the same or another enclosure as accessories. Articles in the individual parts list

3.1.15.1 Printing an enclosure parts list

The parts list of an enclosure can be printed whenever an enclosure is marked in the project
tree.

The enclosure parts list can either be printed via the context menu of the enclosure in the
project tree (right mouse click)

‫ڇ‬
or via the menu (icons) above the project tree using the following button .

This calls up the print parameter setting dialogue.

The parts list is output:

• non-cumulative
• with or without prices
• with or without assembly times

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

Note:
Since the prices are subject to the discount scale, which, in turn, depends on the project
volume, the defined project volume is displayed for information. The defined project volume
can be set for the project in question using the global project information tab (see chapter
2.3).

Click on the "OK" button to create the parts list. A preview of the parts list is displayed
before printing.

Note:
See chapter 2.3.1.1 for a detailed description of the parts list output / report preview.

3.1.16 Creating a special enclosure

Once an enclosure is completely configured and the parts list has been created (green
status), a special enclosure can be created from this enclosure.
Special enclosures can be created in two different ways:
• using the storage symbol in the menu (icons)
• using the context menu of an enclosure (right mouse button -> click)
The "Save enclosure as" dialogue appears, in which a new unique enclosure name must be
entered. By default, the name of the selected enclosure is displayed with the suffix "(new)".

The data of the special enclosure created is stored in the master data, the drawing in the
"...\ApplicationName\CustomerDrawings" directory (cf. chapter 1.10.5).

3.1.17 Edit transport sections

Once all enclosures are completely configured and parts list processing is complete (yellow
system status), symbols for the transport sections appear in the system view of the selected
enclosures above the enclosure symbols. The prerequisite for this is that the system
consists of more than one enclosure.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

3.1.17.1 Symbols for transport sections

A transport section is set. The transport section can be removed.
No transport section is set. A transport section can be set.
A transport section is mandatory for technical reasons because the enclosure types do
not match.

3.1.17.2 Rules for transport sections

• If 2 enclosures are a technical mismatch, a transport section is forced and
cannot be deleted.
• Newly added enclosures are always assigned a transport section.
• Transport sections can be removed if this does not extended the length of
the primary busbar beyond 2.4 m; click on the transport section symbol to
delete.
• There is always a transport section to the left of a coupling section, and this
transport section cannot be deleted.

3.1.18 Generating system accessories

‫ڇ‬

The system accessories can be generated when all enclosures of the system are
completely configured (green status) and parts list processing is complete.
Select the system in the project tree or the "System" tab. The system globals and the status
of the system accessories are displayed in the editing window.

If the "Generate" button is active, the system accessories can be generated.

Once the system accessories have been generated, the message text changes to
"generated", the "Generate" button is deactivated and the status of the system changes to
green.

3.1.19 Ordering a system

Once the system accessories have been generated (status of the system: green), the
system can be ordered. Select the system in the project tree. The system globals and the
status of the order are displayed in the editing window.

Clicking on the "Create" button displays a form with all currently available systems which
can be combined to form orders.

沠ն

The systems marked with a check mark are combined in an order as soon as you click on
the "OK" button. The Order form (see chapter 6) is displayed for further processing. The
status of the system changes from "green" to "Order not completed" , i.e. the order is not
yet completed and can still be changed.

If the system is already included in an order, this is also shown in the system globals:

Click on the "Display" button to display the "Order" form with the data of the order which
includes this system.

3.1.20 Printing a system overview

When a system has been selected in the project tree, the system global parameters are
displayed in the editing window. Select the "CAD view of the system" tab.

The drawing overview is shown as a drawing. The description fields of the drawing header
are automatically filled with data you have entered (see chapter 2.8). A button bar is
available underneath the drawing:

It is possible to switch between the "interior" and "exterior (doors)" views by clicking on the
associated option.
If the operating current and power loss calculation is activated, the values for operating
current, power loss and reserve space can be shown or hidden as desired.
If at least one of these options is selected, the desired values are shown summed up for the
bar system, the enclosure and the system.‫ڇ‬

3.1.20.1 Exporting a system overview

The selected system can be exported via the "Save system (DWG)" button as individual
drawings. When a directory and a file name have been selected, the individual drawing
sheets of the system are saved using the file name in the format
[systemname_sheetnumber.filesuffix]. In different versions, "dwg" or "dxf" can be selected
as the file suffix.

Example:
The system with the designation "Pump A" consists of 2 sheets and is exported in the DWG
drawing format. Two files with the names
Pump A_1.DWG

Pump A_2.DWG
are created.

The drawing overview can be printed out in two variants:

The entire system or the current view if a system comprises several views / sheets.

Enter a system name without special characters.

The rated current and the numbers of poles of the system as well as the position of the
main busbar system and the required short-circuit resistance of the system are the first
technical parameters that need to be entered. They affect other selection options. The
maximum bar temperature and the maximum ambient temperatures are required to
calculate the rated currents of the busbar systems.
You can optionally exclude the configuration of a main busbar system and the associated
components for an entire system, which means that no main busbars and their associated
mounting and connection components will be included in the parts list of this system.
Once you have entered all parameters, please click on CONTINUE.

鈠թ

The available systems, which depend on the busbar position, the rated current, the number
of poles, the short-circuit resistance and the temperature difference of the system, are
displayed.
The maximum rated current of the main busbar systems is filtered in a range from the rated
current entered on page 1 of the wizard to 1.5 times the rated current entered. The factor
can be set in the options menu under "General".

For information purposes, the price per metre of bar system for the configuration in question
is displayed for each bar system.

Above each selection table column (except for the price information) there is a selection
option which can be used to filter the systems displayed.
You can sort the display by this column by clicking on the column header.

Once you have found the correct main busbar system, mark it by clicking on the record and
then click on CONTINUE.

If the configuration of a main busbar system has been deselected on page 1 of the wizard,
this page is limited to the definition of the protection category and forced ventilation.

The parameters of the selected main busbar system are displayed on this page of the
wizard.
If forced ventilation has been selected, you can define the voltage level of the fan supply
here.
If you select the "Accidental arcing safety" option, this affects the protection category of the
system, the version of the roof plates and several cover types.

Flat bar copper calculation:

For all flat bar copper main busbar systems, you can select whether the flat bar copper is to
be purchased from Rittal or whether you will obtain it yourself (also see chapter 4.1.3 Flat
bar copper calculation).

4.1.3 Flat bar copper calculation

For all flat copper bars for

- Flat-PLS,
- RiLine60 with 30x5/30x10
- distribution busbar systems for NH switch-disconnector-fuse section
- PE/PEN bars
it is possible to only determine the copper quantities. The copper material is added up
separately for each of the cross-sections:
30x5mm
30x10mm
40x10mm
50x10mm
60x10mm
80x10mm
100x10mm
120x10mm 될թ
These bars are managed as articles under the "MyCompany" brand. The article numbers
used in "MyCompany" are Cu + copper dimension. This means that these articles can also
be priced using an external article import. Copper weight, weight, base metal and price can
be edited. The pack size is 1 m. If copper calculation was desired, the result for the
enclosure is included in the enclosure parts list, for the system in the system parts list and
for the project in the project parts list.

4.1.4 Deleting a system

A marked system can be deleted in 2 different ways:

• using the delete symbol in the menu (icons)
• using the context menu of the system (right mouse button -> click)

4.1.5 Copying a system

A copy of a marked system can be created in the same project. Thera are two alternative
ways to do this:
• using the copy symbol in the menu (icons)
• using the context menu of the system (right mouse button -> click)

• Cable chamber enclosure
• Distribution busbar section
• Empty enclosure without busbars
• Empty enclosure with busbars
• Busbar riser
• Corner enclosure
• NH switch-disconnector-fuse section for horizontal switch disconnector
fuses
• Special enclosure
Depending on the bar type (RiLine or Flat PLS), height, depth of the system or form
separation, only a limited selection of enclosures may be available.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

4.1.6.1 Adding a special enclosure to a system

If a special enclosure is added in the system view using "drag & drop", a selection dialogue
with all special enclosures of the system appears.

The available special enclosures are prefiltered using the system globals operating current
and enclosure depth since only these are applicable to the current system.

Note:
The "Enclosure type" column displays the description of the enclosure type on the basis of
which this special enclosure was created and adapted.

Once a special enclosure has been marked in the list, the "OK" button is enabled. Click on
the "OK" button to add the special enclosure to the system.

Note:
All the data (configuration parameters / module configuration / parts list) and the image of

4.1.7 Moving/copying a system enclosure

Enclosures can be moved or copied within a system or between two systems. To do this,
mark an enclosure in the project tree and drag it to the desired position within the desired
system using "drag & drop". Confirm the safety prompt. "Copy" or "Move" executes the
desired operation. The status of the system may change as a result of a copy or move
operation.

4.1.8 Deleting a system enclosure

딐թ

Marked enclosures can be deleted in 3 different ways:

• using the delete symbol in the menu (icons)

The parameter to be set is displayed as a text and the associated parameter values in the
움թ
upper part of the configurator.

The configurator switches to the module configuration
(new "Module configuration" tab).

The current enclosure parts list can be displayed and edited via the "Parts list" tab.

4.1.10 Module configuration

When the enclosure is completely configured and the parts list has been created, the
modules of the enclosure can be graphically configured for the modular enclosures, circuit-
breaker sections and coupling sections.

4.1.10.1 Module configuration – Modular enclosure

The selected enclosure is displayed in the configured enclosure width on the left-hand side
of the module configuration.

Underneath the enclosure there is a check box which can be ticked to indicate whether or
not processing of the enclosure is complete. Click on the "Configuration completed" text to
change the status of the enclosure in the project tree from yellow to green (see chapter
2.2.1). For modular sections, the various connector kits available between the main and
multi-terminal busbar systems are displayed. Depending on the configuration at hand, the
following options are available for selection:
• Solid T-connector kit
• Flexible T-connector kit
• Manual configuration
Once you confirm, the required parts are added to the parts list. If you remove the
"Configuration complete" check mark (or change the system global settings for main
busbars, etc.), the parts are deleted from the parts list and must be reconfigured.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

The configuration can only be completed if the enclosure is completely equipped with
modules, i.e. without empty spaces.

In the case of a RiLine 60 modular enclosure, the following module variants are available for
selection (from left to right) on the right side of the module configuration:
• Module without mounting plates (with form separation from 3a only)
• Module with mounting plates
• DIN rail mounted device module
However, the selection of module variants available depends on the selected form division
and enclosure width.

4.1.10.2 Module configuration – Circuit-breaker section / coupling section

The following module variants can be selected for a circuit-breaker section:
• Module without mounting plates (with form separation from 3a only)
• Module with mounting plates with and without duct
• DIN rail mounted device module
똀թ
• ACB module
• Cable connection module
• Compact circuit-breaker module (with RiLine60 main busbar system
only)

The following module variants can be selected for a coupling section:

• Module without mounting plates (with form separation from 3a only)
• Module with mounting plates with and without duct
• ACB module

The individual modules of the variant in question can be placed in the enclosure using "drag
& drop" by means of configuration and subsequent graphical selection.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

젰թ

The configurator of the modules works according to the same principle as the configurator
for enclosures.
With "New module" button the current configuration of the module variant is cancelled, and
the configuration of a new module starts from the beginning. Once the module has been
completely configured, the corresponding image is displayed and can be placed in the
enclosure using "drag & drop".
The configuration is completed by clicking in the "Configuration complete" box. This is only
possible if the entire enclosure has been equipped with modules.

4.1.10.2.1 ACB connection kits

When the "Configuration complete" box is ticked: If there is an ACB module in the
enclosure, the prices and weights for the connector kits are determined and entered in the
parts list. If the connector kit cannot be manufactured due to collisions or insufficient
distance, a message is output, and the configuration cannot be completed. The ACB
module must then be changed or repositioned in such a way that the connector kits can be
produced.

Rittal User manual
Power Engineering 6.1

When an ACB module is configured, the connector kits for above and below the switch are
generated with a version code. With the aid of this code, the connector kits can be
calculated in the connector kit configurator. The connector kit configurator supplies
dimensions, prices, weights and drawings for manufacturing the connector kits. The
configurator can be called up directly from the enclosure parts list by clicking on the
"Generate connector kit" button. All values for this configuration are then shown and output.
Prices and weights are copied to the parts list.

៰‫ڈ‬

If RiLine was selected as the main busbar system, an MCCB module is additionally
available for selection. Either an ACB module OR an MCCB module can be installed in an
enclosure. If one such module type has been placed in an enclosure, the other type is no
longer available for selection.

Note:
The technical parameters of each module are displayed as tip text. Simply move the mouse
cursor across the module and stop there briefly -> the tip text appears.

4.1.10.3 Configuring modules (switch disconnector fuses) in the Rittal

NH switch-disconnector-fuse section
Initially, Rittal NH switch disconnector fuses are configured just like any other enclosure.
Once configuration has been completed, the "Create parts list" button is activated.
The display changes to the graphical placement mode. Now the NH switch disconnector
fuses can be configured and placed likes modules (see above).

• Device modules (only if configuration with Jean Müller Sasil
disconnectors is selected)

The individual modules of the variant in question can be placed in the enclosure using "drag
& drop" by means of configuration and subsequent graphical selection.

둰թ

The configurator of the modules works according to the same principle as the configurator
for enclosures.
With "New module" button the current configuration of the module variant is cancelled, and
the configuration of a new module starts from the beginning. Once the module has been
completely configured, the corresponding image is displayed and can be placed in the
enclosure using "drag & drop".

The configuration is completed by clicking in the "Configuration complete" box. For the NH
switch-disconnector-fuse section this is also possible even if not the entire enclosure has
been equipped with modules.

4.1.10.5 Placing modules in the enclosure

Modules are positioned using "drag & drop", i.e. the desired module is selected by clicking
on it with the mouse, is moved to the enclosure by moving the mouse and positioned with a
single click.

Module placement is supported by a grid of auxiliary lines that defines the possible
positions; it is not necessary to position the module precisely in the available space. The
point of reference for placement is the lower left corner of the module, which snaps into the
placement grid element closest to this corner point:

Note:
Modules cannot be placed on top of each other. The placement is rejected when the
available space is not sufficient for a module. Reselect the module.

4.1.10.6 Moving modules in the enclosure

Modules already positioned can be moved in the enclosure. A single click with the mouse
selects the module. Move the mouse across the enclosure to the desired position and place
the module with a single mouse click.

Note:
Modules cannot be placed on top of each other. The placement is rejected when the
available space is not sufficient for a module. The module is displayed at its original position
again.
If a module is marked to be moved and the mouse cursor is moved to a place outside the
graphics area (e.g. to the project tree), the move operation is cancelled. The module is
displayed at its original position again.

4.1.10.7 Deleting modules in the enclosure

Modules already positioned can be deleted from the enclosure. A single click with the
mouse selects the module. Move the mouse to a place outside the enclosure (white frame
around the enclosure) and place it there with a single click.

There is no safety prompt; the module is deleted from the enclosure and in the parts list
immediately.

Note:
If a module is marked to be deleted and the mouse cursor is moved to a place outside the
graphics area (e.g. to the project tree), the delete operation is cancelled. The module is
displayed at its original position again.

4.1.11 Device configuration (only with distribution busbar in functional

space)

The selected enclosure is displayed in the configured enclosure width on the left-hand side
of the device configuration.

Once the enclosure has been completely populated with modules, the devices to be
installed can be graphically configured for the modules in the enclosure. The entire
enclosure must be filled with modules, empty spaces in the enclosure are not allowed.
The device configuration is done for each module and is initiated by switching the option
buttons from the module to devices.

using "drag & drop" following configuration and subsequent graphics
selection.
The configurator of the devices works according to the same principle as
the configurator for enclosures or modules.
Once the module has been completely configured, the corresponding
image is displayed and can be placed in the enclosure using "drag &
drop".
The devices are automatically arranged from the bottom to the top within
a module and cannot be moved within a module.
If the there is no more space within a module for the configured device,
this device cannot be positioned.

4.1.11.1 Busbar supports

If configuration requires the use of busbar supports for the vertical busbar that are not
suitable for top mounting, these are also displayed in the graphic because collisions with
devices would be possible in these places or it might not be possible to install devices due
to a lack of space.
The busbar supports are arranged with maximum distances in between depending on the
short-circuit resistance selected. For optimal use of the space that can be populated, the
arrangement of the busbar support positions is recalculated regularly while devices are
being added. If, for example, the space between the last device and the busbar support for
the device to be positioned is insufficient, the busbar support is moved to be flush with the
device last positioned.
If busbar supports are moved, all busbar supports may need to be shifted as a result of this
since the required maximum spacing must not be exceeded. These shifts may in turn affect
device arrangements in the modules above, requiring the corresponding modules to be
repopulated with devices.

For this reason, we urgently recommend to always proceed from the lower module upwards
when using vertical bars with busbar supports not suitable for top mounting.

4.1.11.2 Deleting devices in the module

Devices already positioned can be deleted from the module. A single click with the mouse
selects the device. Confirm the safety prompt that appears, and the device is deleted from
the enclosure and the parts list.

4.1.12 Editing an enclosure parts list

Once the configuration of the enclosure is complete and the parts list has been created, the
parts list can be edited at any time independent of the module configuration.

The parts list is displayed in two areas:

• The upper area shows the generated parts list based on the configuration.
Here, the assembly times can be adapted independent of the master data.
While it is not possible to delete articles from the parts list as a matter of
principle, modules can be removed also via the graphical user interface of
the module configuration (see chapter 5.1.9.3). An article can be copied to
the individual parts list of the same or another enclosure by marking the
article in the parts list and selecting "Copy" with the right mouse button. If you
then click in an individual parts list with the right mouse button and select
"Paste", the article is inserted.
• Click on the "Print" button to print the enclosure parts list (see chapter
4.1.12.1).
• The parts list can be supplemented by the user in the lower area. To do this,
click on the "Add" button. The "Parts list processing article selection"

5.1.14.1 Exporting a system overview

If the "Whole system" button is selected, the system is printed from left to right as it will be
installed. As many enclosures per sheet printed are printed as possible.

If the "Current view" button is selected, only the current view is printed.

6 Orders
Provided that systems of the project have been completely configured (status "green" in
the project tree), orders can be created.

Note:
A system can be assigned to one order only.

When an order is created, all Rittal articles in the system parts lists are collected and
rounded up to the next packaging unit. Articles from other manufacturer are not taken into
account.

6.1 Creating new orders

A new order can be created in two different ways:

1) directly from a system (see chapters 3.1.19 and 5.1.13)

2) directly from the project: Click on the "New" button.

Select either a system or the project in the project tree and click on the corresponding
button. A form with all currently available systems that can be combined to form orders
appears.
