CONCLUSION

A. CONCLUSION

Based on the explanation and the description in the previous chapter, the

writer concluded that the types of error in passive voice of past tense that were

made by the students of the 11th grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Cisolok from

the highest percentage to the lowest percentage are error of misformation,

error of omission and error of misordering. From total 20 sentences that

answer by 20 students, the total error are 106. Almost 100% students made

error in passive voice of past tense.

The researcher concluded the highest to the lowest frequency and the

percentage of error types commonly made by 11th grade students of SMA

Negeri 1 cisolok are: first, error of misformation; this error types take 69 or

65% that made by students. The most of errors derived from the use of

irregular verb, regular verb and to be. Based on the research instruments, the

students mostly wrong in the use of irregular verb. The students stated that

they are still confuse in distinguishing between irregular verb and regular

verb.

Second, error of omission; this error types take 28 error or 26% that made

by students. The most error derived from the absence of inflectional –ed in

regular verb. According to research instrument the students stated that they

were still did not understand about verb and lack of knowledge of verb.

Third, error of misordering; this types of error take 9 or 8% that made by

students. The most error derived because of the incorrect placement of pattern

on each sentence in passive voice of past tense. The students mostly error in

passive voice of past perfect tense. From the research instrument the student

stated that they were did not understand about passive voice pattern.

From the description above the highest error types that made by students are

misformation with amount 69 or 68% percentage. Most of error derived from

wrong form of irregular verb and irregular verb. Based on the test instrument,

the students stated that they are still confusing in distinguishing V2 and Verb

of past participle and the students still confuse what past participle is. The

students still lack of knowledge in regular and irregular verb. The students did

not know too much about regular and irregular verb.

B. SUGGESTION

After the researcher conducted research and also analyzed the data, the

researcher gave suggestion for English teacher, students, and others researcher

because English learning activities should be able to make students

comfortable and enjoy while they were studying. Not only that, there was a

creative teacher in organizing the classroom activities. This purpose of the

research was that teachers and students work together in learning activities and

also find solutions together if there were students who have difficulty in

learning English, especially about passive voice of past tense. Moreover, this

research was expected all element could work together to minimize the

occurrence of errors by the students in passive voice especially using past

tenses. Then, error analysis could become solution that help English teacher

found the next media or technique to teach writing and help students if they

found difficulties in construct the sentences. Error analysis is tool to help the

researcher checked the grammatical error that made by students especially

using passive voice in past tense. Therefore, the researcher would give

solution for English teacher, students, and other researchers.

1. The Teacher

The researcher hopes that this research study can improve the

teacher’s ability to help students in teaching grammar in the class. Besides

that, the English teacher is able to use the interesting media like using

English diary to improve the students’ ability in grammar. After, the

teacher read this study they more careful to check using grammar that

made by students. Therefore, teacher can find new method to teach

grammar not only passive voice. So, teacher can guide the students to

make sentences of passive voice with correct tenses. Moreover, the

English teacher should explain more about tenses and changing of verb in

tenses structural. Then, teacher should motivate students to practice

writing and asking the teacher if he finds it difficult.

2. The Students

The students should develop their motivations because it is an

important factor in English learning. To increase their ability in English

also the students should study the material intensively, repeatedly and

toughly especially in passive voice of past tense material because it has a

complex rule. The students should do more practice in order to decrease

their lacking knowledge and understanding of the grammatical rules in

passive voice of past tense and the students should answer every question,

which is given by the teacher, and are not afraid to answers false.

3. The Next Researcher

This research could be used references in next research about types

errors based on others expert and different text. The purpose is this

research could supported other research and find solution to solve errors

that made by students in Indonesia.
