Location Old Town, centre of Vilnius City, close to the President’s Office.
Vilnius University is within a five-minute walking distance from
Cathedral Square (Katedros aikštė).

Registration Registration as well as the course opening will take place in

V. Krėvės (118) Room

Pass through the metal gates into Sarbievijaus Courtyard, aka the
Courtyard of the Faculty of Philology, go straight and at the very end
take a passage on your left, then turn right and enter the building
with the inscription DOMVS PHILOLOGIAE above the door, take a
flight of stairs to the first floor and proceed forward until the very
end and turn left.

There will be direction stands to follow so it should be easy to find

the room.

Entrance Entrance to Vilnius University is charged for tourists. Explain the

reason of your visit, if necessary.

Library Library & internet services are available at the university library.
The user card can be obtained by any individual. Library
membership is charged.

Wireless Connection A password-secured wireless connection is available in most areas

of the Faculty of Philology. There are multiple access points, each
with its own password. The list will be made available in July 2019.

Payment at Bank or Post Some banks, including Swedbank, SEB, or Luminor, accept
Office payments-in in cash in a very limited number of branches. For
instance, there are only two branches of SEB Bank in Vilnius that
accept cash. The closest of the two is located in Naugarduko St 55A,
03204 Vilnius but it is still quite a distance from the Old City where
Vilnius University is located.

Payments can also be made at the Central Post Office in Gedimino

Ave 7, 01001 Vilnius, its branch offices, or Paypost service points.
The payment of 666 EUR will cost 4.45 EUR while that of 434 EUR

To our knowledge, Lithuanian banks no longer accept bank cheques.

Vilniečio kortelė (passenger card priced at 1.50 EUR). At sales

points, the passenger card can be topped up with the amount of
your choice or only with thirty-minute tickets or only with sixty-
minute tickets or only with a pass or it be a combination of several
options, e.g. thirty-minute tickets + a pass for working days.

Validation of a pass, thirty-minute ticket, or sixty-minute ticket

If you topped up the passenger card with the amount of your

choice, press it against the card reader to validate your ticket (look
for a yellow-coloured card reader) and choose between a thirty-
minute or sixty-minute journey by pressing on the screen. Wait for
a beep. After validation, any number of transfers is allowed for the
time chosen.

A monthly or any other pass, thirty-minute tickets, or sixty-minute

tickets are valid from the first pressing of the card against the card
reader. Wait for a beep.

You can check on-screen if you have validated your ticket or pass
correctly and the amount/number of tickets remaining on the
card.

You can also check the card balance on-line at

https://mano.vilniustransport.lt/login by entering the code on the
passenger card. Information on the amount remaining is updated
once a day.

Single paper tickets are available when purchased from the driver
only, valid until end of journey if punched, no transfer is allowed
(look for a red or yellow-coloured ticket punch near the driver’s
cabin).

Only tickets bought from the driver and punched are valid in night
buses. Passes and other tickets are invalid.

Prices for public transport:

 • monthly pass (29.00 EUR including weekends & holidays /
26.00 EUR for working days only);
• ten-day pass (15.00 EUR);
• five-day pass (12.00 EUR);
• three-day pass (8.00 EUR);
• one-day pass (5.00 EUR);

Student discounts (up to 80%) for EU citizens & ISIC holders:
