“Rights of LGBT”

“Pride is not an LGBT celebration, it's a human rights celebration - it's a celebration of
equality - it's a celebration of inclusion - it's a celebration of acceptance.”
What is LGBT stands for? It is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender. This are
simple words, but this word refers to humans who have been insulted, humiliated,
criticized and discriminate by many and not accepted by the community. These are the
people that we have taken for granted and should be given attention to. They didn’t give
an equal treatment in terms of workplace, benefits, and not given an opportunity of
freedom to love and marriage. The government and other institutions should push for
giving the LGBT Community the opportunity to attain such rights and one of which is the
right to marriage. LBGT community has given us colorful life, they are the people behind
hope, hope that soon everyone will accept them as who they are and be respected
In our generation today, as a 21st century people we need to slowly open our minds
and hearts to LGBT community and be able to mingle and see who they really are and
what are the things that they can do with flying colors. I, myself, is a part of the LBGT
community. Base on my experience, I received a lot of unequal treatments at school, in
my workplace, and most of all from the community. I have lots of friends that are also gay
and they were not accepted by their family, but lucky, for me, when I discovered myself
as a gay at the age of 6, my parents already knew my true identity and they’ve accepted
me as who I truly am, as their son half “daughter”. I know many people are not into it -
with my gender preference since it’s a sin according to Roman Catholics/Christians, like
me, but despite of that I still tell myself that there’s nothing wrong of being who you are,
that being gay is not a Sin, that I’m not different, and should be respected. We didn’t force
nor wish in ourselves to become like this since it naturally comes just like one of the
famous songs of Lady Gaga, “I was born this way” and had nothing to do with the
influence of other people.
That’s why, for me, everyone should be proud of who they are and who they love,
we should bring an end to homophobia and transphobia that could save lives, and lastly,
we should embrace LGBT people and understanding their identities so that we can learn
on how to remove many of the limitations imposed by gender stereotypes.
