The Problem

This research aims to determine the Extent of Awareness of Auditors in Makati

City on Blockchain Technology and their Perception on the Potential Impact of

Blockchain Technology in the Audit Process.

Research Methodology

The descriptive method was used in the study to depict the nature of a condition as it

existed at the time the study was made. The study was conducted during the first

semester of the school year 2017- 2018. The respondents of the study are the 10

Accounting Heads/Supervisors and 114 Certified Public Accountants situated in Makati

City, Philippines. The researchers designed a survey questionnaire as their primary

instrument used in collecting reliable data. Frequency, percentage difference, ranking

and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were computed for the comparison of responses of

the Accounting Heads/Supervisors with the Certified Public Accountants employed in

their firm. The weighted mean was used to analyze the responses on their overall

assessment based on the Mutual Recognition Agreement on Accountancy Services’

Basis for Recognition and International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB)

measurement for Competency.
