HR
HR manages people how to behave
HR tells everybody including the top executives how they
have to treat each other and they don’t especially like it.

HR is considered to be doing nothing


When the company are not struggling with labor issues
and going more smoothly all around, people start to
ask “what is the purpose of HR anyway?”

HR is a nuisance/hindrance
! HR become a nuisance for company when the economy is
down and the labor market is slack

HR
HR is an important partner for company
Usually when companies are struggling with labor issues,
HR is seen like a valued leadership partner.

HR as a driver of company success


When labor tightens up and HR practices become
essential to companies’ immediate success.

HR’s involvement is better for employee


The position that carried the day was that thing would be
much worse for employees without HR’s involvement

Set the agenda


HR must demonstrate their influence and responsibilities to the executives like layoffs, recruiting,
flexible work arrangements and performance management.

Focus on issues that matter in the here and now


HR must craft company-specific policies that respond to today's challenges
career advancement.

Acquire business knowledge


HR must have deep knowledge about workplace issues for employee data,
recruiting, performance analysis.

Highlight financial benefits


HR must be able to estimate costs and benefits wisely, especially in
recruitment.

Walk away from the time wasters


HR must invest heavily in specific program that have overall benefits.

1. It is related to cost efficiency to hire people from another company because
there will not need to provide training program cost from the company. (Billy)

1. As long as the HR already had their ideas regarding how to achieve the
