Critique Of Arguments Of
Ali Mirza against Ilham
Refuting Ali Mirza, Refuting Mirza Jhelumi
Talat Zahra Naqvi
28-Aug-19
Mirza: Jhelumi: has tried to make some arguments against the ‘Ilha:m.
So it is required to make some objections on the most fundamental arguments of Mirza: Jhelumi: .
First Argument.
The first argument of Mirza: Jhelumi against ‘Ilha:m is from a Tradition in which Holy Prophet said that
There were Muh:addath: in the previous ‘Ummah and in this ‘Ummah, if some one is worthy of it , then
it is Saiyiduna: ‘:Umar RD: .
TheَwordَMuh:addath:u:nَmeansَ“َThoseَwhoَareَspoken”َ.
This is the Literal meaning. Inspired is not the accurate meaning but just an
approximation.
TheَInfinitiveَ“Mas:dar”َisَTah:di:th:
The wordَTah:di:th:َisَnotَaَsynonymَofَtheَwordَ‘Ilha:m.
As a term there are the definitions of these two terms are not one and the same.

IfَMirza:َJhelumiَsaysَthatَtheَwordَTah:di:th:َisَ‘Ilha:mَthenَheَhasَtoَproveَthatَeitherَ
the literal meaning of Tah:di:th:َandَtheَliteralَmeaningَofَtheَwordَ‘Ilha:mَareَoneَandَ
the same or he has to prove that both term has one and the same definition.
Logicallyَifَitَisَtrueَthatَ“AllَAَisَB”َthenَitَisَnotَimpliedَthatَ“AllَBَisَA”َ.
So this means that unless he does not prove them his argument from the text of the
tradition is invalid.
Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The pious
dreams are the seventieth part of Prophecy. Muslim Book 29
ItَisَsaidَthatَforَdreamَthatَitَisَaَpartَofَProphethood,َbutَitَisَneitherََsaidَforَ‘Ilha:m
‘Ilha:mَisَneitherَaَpartَofَNabu:vahَnotَitَconstitutesَit.
SoَOnceَagainَMirza:َJhelumi:َhasَtoَproveَthatَ‘Ilha:mَisَaَpartَofَNabu:vah.
As this is just a critique , the flaws in the argumentations of Mirza: Jhelumi: are pointed
out.
Conclusion
