Course Description
This senior class will prepare students for the life ahead. The purpose of this class is to
introduce students to some of the most important and relevant subject areas they
will use in “real-life.” Paying for college, filing taxes, and saving for retirement
are a few topics that will help students make better decisions in their everyday
life. Rather than being simply a money class, this course is a life happiness class.

Course Objectives directly aligned with State Standards:


By the end of this course, students will be able to:
 Set financial goals
 Explain the need to save and invest
 Explain the nature of stocks
 Explain the nature of bonds
 Explain the nature of mutual funds
 Describe sources of securities information
 Explain factors to consider when selecting investments
 Describe employment opportunities in financial services

Assessments:
15% Formative (Daily Work)
70% Summative (Quizzes/Tests)
15% Final Exam/Project
