Wireless WAN Software update tool Procedure

[Caution]
Please logon by user with administrator rights.
- Connect the AC adaptor and battery and do not remove them.
- Please exclude all the peripheral devices such as USB machinery, the PC Card.
- Please change the “Wireless WAN” setting of “Setup Utility” to [Enable].
- Please exit all application software besides Wireless WAN Software update
tool.
- Please exclude SIM Card.
- Please disconnect by Wireless WAN communication and other communication.
- Please don't use suspend and hibernation status automatically during Wireless
WAN Software update tool execution.
- Please close GPS port before Wireless WAN Software update tool execution.
- When virus extermination software is stationed, please release stationing.

1. Wireless WAN Software update tool download

Please download the following program from download page.

wwansoft_v100l10m00_w7xp_d111773.exe

(1) Execute downloaded program.

(2) Click [Yes] at the User Account Control screen if displayed.

* If “This machine does NOT support.” is displayed, please confirm the

following.
- Please change the “Wireless WAN” setting of “Setup Utility” to [Enable].
If “Wireless WAN“ setting of “Setup Utility” is [Enable], Wireless WAN
Software update tool does not support your machine.

(3) Read the license agreement carefully, and click [Yes].

(4) The screen to specify the destination location appears. The default location
is “c:\util_d111773”. Specify your location and click [OK]. (You usually
don’t need to change the location.)

(5) Wait until the folder “c:\util_d111773” is displayed.

2. Run Wireless WAN Software update tool

(1) Double click Wireless WAN Software update tool icon.

The file name is WWANSoft_update_R4G6606( WWANSoft_update_R4G6606.exe).

(2) Windows XP: Firmware version and Driver version are displayed.
Windows 7 : Firmware version, Driver version and Windows HotFix(KB2615592) are
displayed.
If the Firmware version, Driver version and Windows HotFix(KB2615592) is not the
following, Click [Update] to start executing the Wireless WAN Software update
tool.
Firmware version : “Current version” is “R4G”.
Driver version : “Current version” is “6.6.0.6”
Windows HotFix(KB2615592) : “KB2615592 is already installed.”

If [Update] button is gray, Firmware, Driver and Windows HotFix(KB2615592) are

already updated. You don’t need to update by using Wireless WAN Software
update tool. Click [Cancel].

(3) Windows XP : If “You must restart your system to complete the update of the
Wireless WAN Software. Click Yes to restart now or No if you plan to restart later.”
is displayed, Click [Yes] to restart your system now.
If you plan to restart your system later, Click [No].

Windows 7 : If “You must restart your system to complete the update of the Wireless
WAN Software and installation of HotFix(KB2615592). Click Yes to restart now or No
if you plan to restart later.” is displayed, Click [Yes] to restart your system now.
If you plan to restart your system later, Click [No].

Windows XP

* If “Could not get the firmware version.” is displayed, please confirm the
following.
- Please exit all application software besides Wireless WAN Software update
tool.

(4) After restart your system, please confirm the following by double click Wireless
WAN Software update tool icon.
Firmware version : “Current version” is “R4G”.
Driver version : “Current version” is “6.6.0.6”
Windows HotFix(KB2615592) : “KB2615592 is already installed.”

Click [Cancel] to finish Wireless WAN Software update tool

3. Update Wireless WAN Manager

(Only the user using Wireless WAN Manager)

* If you don’t use Wireless WAN Manager, you don’t need to execute the following.

(1) Please confirm the Wireless WAN Manager version by ”About” Tab of Wireless WAN
Manager.
(2) If Wireless WAN Manager version is “6.5.1.2”, Wireless WAN Manager is already
updated. You don’t need to update.
If Wireless WAN Manager version is not “6.5.1.2”, double click
c:\util_d111773\WM\setup.exe to install Wireless WAN Manager.
(3) Click [Yes] at the User Account Control screen if displayed.
(4) Follow the on-screen instructions, and install the Wireless WAN Manager.
