TEACHERS BEHAVIOR INVENTORY (TBI)

Please answer the following questions as honestly and as objectively as you can. The information you’ll be
giving us will be kept confidential. You do not need to write your name. Rate your instructor using the
following scale: 5 - Always (Regularly), 4 - Most of the Time (But Not Regularly), 3 - Sometimes, 2 - Rarely, 1 -
Never.

I. TEACHING COMPETENCE
A. Skills and Efficiency
1. The instructor comes to the class prepared for the day’s lesson.
2. The instructor is well informed of current trends and encourages students to keep up with the recent
and varied publication related to the subject matter.
3. The instructor gives objectives that are specific, attainable and relevant to development needs.
4. The instructor relates the lessons to everyday experience.
5. The instructor makes use of fluent English or Filipino depending on the subject matter.
6. The instructor discusses the lessons in a well-organized manner.
7. The instructor uses different teaching strategies to make the learning experience effective.
8. The instructor encourages students to participate in class activities and discussions.
9. The instructor encourages the students to develop skills and conceptualize ideas through skilled/critical
thinking and by giving clear, precise and intelligent instructions.
10. The instructor uses assessment techniques to monitor student’s academic progress.
11. The instructor provides encouragement, gives due credit and recognition to students’ progress.
12. The instructor provides the students with a course outline or syllabus at the start of the term.

B. Class Management

3. The instructor shows concern and interest for the welfare of the students.
4. The instructor allows the students to express opinions contrary to his/her own opinion.
5. The instructor dresses neatly and is appropriately groomed in attending to his/her class.
6. The instructor avoids mannerisms that distract the students.

TEACHERS BEHAVIOR PROCESS (TBP)

Please answer the following questions as honestly and as objectively as you can. The information you’ll be
giving us will be kept confidential. You do not need to write your name. Rate your instructor using the
following scale: 5 - Always (At All Times), 4 - Most of the Time (But Not Regularly), 3 - Sometimes (At a Time
Not Specified), 2 - Rarely (Not Often), 1 - Never (No to Any Extent).

I. QUALITY OF TEACHING
A. Ability and Effectiveness
1. The faculty set high expectations for all students.
2. The faculty has cleared, written out objective.
3. The faculty has lesson plans that give students a clear idea of what they will be learning, what are the
assignments are and what the grading policy is.
4. The faculty is consistent in grading and returns work in a timely manner.
5. The faculty makes use of fluent English or Filipino depending on the subject matter.
6. The faculty is in the classroom early and ready to teach.
7. The faculty ensures that the classrooms are organized in such a way as to minimize destructions.
8. The faculty encourages students to participate in class activities and discussions.
9. The faculty form strong relations with their students and show that they care about them as people.
10. The faculty uses assessment techniques to monitor student’s academic progress.
11. The faculty provides the students with a course outline or syllabus at the start of the term.

B. Class Management
1. The faculty is warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring.
2. The faculty exhibit expertise in the subjects they are teaching and spend time continuing to gain new
knowledge in their field.
3. The faculty establishes rapport with students.
4. The faculty establishes a positive classroom climate.
5. The faculty maintains a good atmosphere for teaching and learning through the end of semester.
6. The faculty must follow the syllabus.
7. The faculty should be setting the right tone for their class and get to know their students.
8. The faculty should be helping students and learn to assess their knowledge and to study more
effectively.
9. The faculty must be increasing student satisfaction and decreasing student anxiety in your class
through knowledge of dates for examination.
10. The trainer control himself/herself from saying obscene, foul and vulgar words in class.
11. The faculty holds high senses of credibility, integrity and good moral to his/her students.
12. The faculty helps students to realize that they earn their grades.
