Dates to Remember
Hive Happenings… August:
Literacy: Reading and Writing August 26th – Back to School Night 6p.m.
We are spending time building our reading
stamina as a class. Our program requires September:
students read for 30 minutes daily both at September 2nd Labor Day Holiday
school and at home. We have already built our September 3rd Lagniappe Classes start
school stamina up to two 15 minutes sessions!! September 4th Early Release
Students wrote their first books titled, All September 11th Parent Café after Morning Meeting
About Me. We will begin writing ocean books September 18th Progress Conferences no school
this week. September 30th Fall Break
Math: Patterns, Parts, and Wholes October:
Students are working with number patterns October 1st Fall Break
using dot cards and ten frames. Students will October 12th – City Park Fun Night

 Please be sure to say good-bye before your student sits down for Morning Meeting not after.
 First grade has a second recess at 2:10. Students are allowed to bring a snack for second
recess.
 For those of you using carpool, please drive down Jeannette and then turn right on Lowerline.
Thank you, for your understanding and patients with carpool. The first few days are confusing
for the students.
