The use of internet grants its user great awareness of the importance of the world around them. The
internet is a platform for several types of information. It is used by students including secondary
students .Internet usage will continue to grow as long as its user are not denied easy access
(Olatokun,2008).

According to Ellore et al. (2014) “on the influence of interest usage on academic performance and face
to face communication revealed that as a result of the availability of internet, most students have had
access to internet on their cell phone”. This helps student to broaden their academic knowledge. The
use of computer and access to online resources & according to Akende and Bamise (2017) “are
comparatively important to students.

Academic Performance

Internet connection contributes to students’ academic performance as well as self-learning skill.

Considering access of the internet by the SHS of Dumalinao indicated that most students believed the
internet to be far better and convenient than their school libraries. It clearly emphasize that the internet
are source for general knowledge and it really helps them to improve their reading and being
resourceful habits can lead them to improve their academic performance. According to Siraj et al. (2015)
affirmed that students perceived the internet as a supplement for learning and thus contribute to higher
academic feat. Ogedebe (2012) agreed that majority of students obtain relevant information such as
academic materials from the internet. It’s probably said that students use the internet to enhance their
study.

Internet connection is really important us students. It is more advantageous when it comes on

researching and making projects. On doing surfing on the internet such as undergoing into the websites
that fits on what you are looking for. Example of that the Trello account,yammer,yahoo.com and etc.
According to Holscher and Strube (2000) he acknowledge that searching for relevant information on the
web is often a laborious and frustrating task for newbies and experience users.

Students and also teachers are depending of the internet connection nowadays. It is too useful and
convenient for educational purpose. Lavined and Kubey (2001) “ formed that about 68% of parents and
70% of teachers said that they have shelter higher grades of students because of internet usage”. We
can say that the students today are need to expose on technology. In making reports, such as video
presentation, power point and slide shows. We as millennial, as a 21st century students we should
always adapt on what the latest on doing accessing internet.
