ABSTRACT

The present study aims to figure out the detail of gatul fish. Gatul fish come from south Australia.
There are of the freshwater species that easy to found in rivers, drains, and farming field. The necessary
data and information were collected through the direct observation of an object under study. The result
indicated that gatul male fish and gatul female fish were can eassy to distinguish from the size, shape and
the color. The male gatul fish have characteristic of lean body with the relatuely small size long, and the
fish more brightly and the female fish dark color and simple. Gatul fish (porcilia reticulata) have diferent
characters between male and female as they fuchion.

INTRODUCTION

Gatul fish (poecillia reticulata) is one of
the freshwater species that the most popular in
the word and easy to found in rivers, drains, and
farming field. This fish belong to family
pocallidae come from South America, also
called as million fish because this fish eassy to
(berkembangbiak). Gatul fish able to adapted
and lived on a dirty and polluted environment.
From the morphology gatul fish can be eassy to
distinguish from the size, shape, and collor.

Gatul fish (policidae reticulata) has
different name onevery place their lived. For
example this fish on West Java called gendot
fish, because when this fish pregnant, their
stomach become fat. Other place called a cere
fish and on the East Java this fish called gatul
fish.
Gatul fish is also consumed in s0me
areas in Indonesia. Hence, this fish is necessary
to be conserved. This fish is easily to cultivated.
This fish is eassy to pregnant, the gestation
periode between 21-30 days depending of the
water temperature. The suitable temperature
breeding developments in around 27 degrees.

more choose on the lower part and slowly swim.
CONCLUTION
The male gatul fish and female gatul fish
have different character. The character is eassy
to distinguish from the size, shape and the
collor.
