The Revelation (585) yousuf mahbubul Islam, PhD

Do we observe the environment around us? Are we inquisitive enough to ask questions
on what we see? For example, do we observe how flowers grow, how vegetables, fruits
and even babies grow into adults? Can these things grow by themselves? Is it possible
that these objects can grow randomly? Should we reflect on how these objects are
created?

To help our analysis, let us turn our thoughts to things that humans themselves are
involved in building, manufacturing or putting together. Having laid the foundation, can a
building grow by itself to become a skyscraper? Or for that matter, can a MINI {1} car
grow by its own self to become a big car like a Rolls Royce? What steps may be
involved in making a building into a skyscraper? Likewise, if a MINI were to be turned in
to a Rolls Royce, what steps would be involved? Lets consider each separately. What
would be the steps to construct a large building? Would we have to decide on the
purpose or utility of the building? Then decide what parts and systems it would house,
followed by clearly detailed specifications of the foundations, the frame, steel structure,
the electrical systems, the water supply and drainage systems, the Internet, TV and
internal phone networks, the lighting, the size and specification of each room, walls,
floors, corridors and bathrooms, etc. Once these specifications are done, a work plan of
step-by-step construction that the engineering teams would follow. Construction
progress would have to be closely monitored to see whether the specifications are being
followed. It would be between one to two years before people can move in to start using
the building. As the building is handed over to the regular maintenance team, they would
have to be given documents/diagrams and instructions on how to maintain the various
building systems.

As human beings cannot make things “grow”, making a MINI grow into a Rolls Royce
can only be imagined, but each type of car would have to be made separately. Just like
in the case of the tall building, would similar steps need to be taken to construct each
type of car? Once ready, each car would be handed over complete with a user’s manual
that would contain maintenance rules, trouble shooting guide and contact details during
the warranty period. Some diagrams would be extracted from the original detailed
specifications of the car and put in the user’s manual. References to the original
specification documents may be included for authentication and other purposes.

Having thought through how buildings and cars are constructed/put together, lets
analyze the following question. Can flowers, vegetables, fruits and even babies made to
grow into their full forms without similar efforts? Can we categorically deny that God, the
Almighty Creator, would not have a purpose, matching detailed specifications for each
individual object, construction plans, location specifics, date and time of launching
construction/creation? How does God manage the millions of objects that are growing
simultaneously throughout the earth? In the case of human beings, would God extract
maintenance guidelines and arrange to have these delivered in the local human
language?

Where can we check our thoughts? Would Holy Scriptures confirm or deny our
assumptions? To bring our thoughts to a conclusion, let us study the following Verses
from the Qur’an.
“And if all the trees on earth were pens and the oceans (were ink) with seven
oceans behind it to add to its (supply) yet would not the Words of God be
exhausted (in the writing): for God is exalted in power full of Wisdom.” [31.27]
If the Verse refers to documentation of the detailed specifications/plans of the entire
universe including each flower, fruit, vegetable and human being, where is it kept?
“By the Book that makes things clear [85.22] We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic
[3.7] that you may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). And verily it is in
the Mother of the Book in Our Presence high (in dignity) full of wisdom.” [43.2-4]

The main book, or Mother of the Book, from which the Qur’an has been extracted and
translated into Arabic, is in the presence of God. Would the revealed Verses in Arabic
refer to the Mother of the Book? At the opening of Chapter 26 (Sura Ash-Shuara) we find
the following letters.

26.1 “Ta Sin Mim”.

26.2 “These are the verses of the clear Book.”

Do the Arabic letters Ta Sin Mim refer to places in the Book with God as do letters
appearing in 28 other chapters of the Qur’an (e.g., 45.1, 43.1 – 43.4)? If so, it would lend
authenticity and authority to the revealed verses. The next verse addresses the Prophet
through whom the Verses of clear Book were revealed.

26.3 “Perhaps, (O, Muhammad) you would kill yourself with grief that they
will not be believers.

26.4 “If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for
which their necks would remain humbled.”
That is, they would become believers. Why would God not force belief? Unlike previous
forms of creation, human beings have not only been given the ability but the
responsibility to observe and question knowledge to distinguish between the truth and
falsehood and thereby establish the truth and reality of God, i.e., become believers in
doing so. With this responsibility, God has added free will, i.e., it is up to the individual
whether or not to carry out this responsibility. The purpose of revelation is to warn of the
consequences of shirking this responsibility.

26.5 “But there comes not to them a newly revealed message from (God,
the) Most Gracious but they turn away therefrom.”
The collection of revealed Verses are now available as the Qur’an. If we do not use the
Qur’an as one would use a manufacturer’s manual, we effectively have turned away
from it. This in itself demonstrates disbelief and rejection of God’s Guidance.

26.6 “They have indeed rejected (the Message): so they will know soon
(enough) the truth of what they mocked at!”

26.7 “Do they not look at the earth how many noble things of all kinds we
have produced in it?”

26.8 “Verily in this is a Sign; but most of them do not believe.”

26.9 “And verily your Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.”
