Job Title: ​Physician Assistant

Job Description: ​A physician assistant is a health care provider who practices medicine under

the supervision of a physician. Their duties include diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing

physical examinations, assisting in surgeries, and making hospital rounds.

Training, Education, and Certification: ​To become a physician assistant you must maintain a

bachelor’s degree, complete a two/three year master’s PA program, and finally pass the PANCE

licensing exam.

College or Post High School Programs and Recommended High School Courses:

Recommended courses to take are general biology, medical terminology, genetics, organic

chemistry, biochemistry, public speaking, anatomy and physiology.

Physician Assistant (ConnAPA), National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant
