ABSTRACT
The study aims to explore how architecture can promote healing and provide spaces for
diversion and events where personal wellness can take place. The environment and
human beings are connected by physical, mental, emotional and spiritual means. Thus,
environment plays an important role in healing, and healing cannot be understood with
the isolation from the factors that creates the dynamic life of an individual such as himself,
the family and the community.

Furthermore, the arts and art therapy have, over the years, been used to alleviate
different kinds ailments and have been successful as it heals across ages and race. The
question I suppose is can architecture do the same? In our built environment we often
interact with the buildings themselves without knowing the fact of relationship between
building and the surroundings. It can affect us both positively and negatively. So, it is
crucial to build a space that brings healing and positivity.

ABSTRACT
Architecture seeks perfect interrelation between design and natural elements, which then
leads to optimization of environmental resources, thus reducing energy consumption.
Bioclimatic architecture is a sustainable approach to connect building with nature while
maintaining the comfort based on local climate.

Rodriguez, Rizal is famous for its beautiful hiking sites such as Mt. Pamitinan, Mt.
Hapunang-Banoi, Mt. Binacayan, the Roxas Trail and Mt. Lubog. Providing a research
facility and a tourism building with a bioclimatic design helps promote not only tourism in
the community but also the protection of the environment and provide adequate training
for the tourists and the tourist guides’ safety.
