Personal Statement:

I have worked as a digital marketing contractor for the last 12 years. During that time, I
actively participated, enabled and contributed to many unethical practices, including
media manipulation/disinformation, astroturfing and user data abuse.

Having become disillusioned with the industry, I made the decision to make the switch
to online rights activism. Currently I volunteer for Open Rights Group (lead organiser,
Oxford chapter and member of Supporter Council) and am working on a digital
marketing reform initiative separately. I am also advising the Department of Digital
Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) on their disinformation investigation and will be guest
lecturing on marketing ethics at Oxford Brookes during the next academic year.
