 Joanne Kathleen Rowling or more commonly called J.K. Rowling is the author of the
legendary Harry Potter novel that has been appointed to the big screen and became the Mega Box
Office.And the novel brings blessings to J.K. Rowling who made her the richest writer today
Born at Yate, North Gloucestershire,England on July 31st 1965. J.K. Rowling’s childhood
has been surroundered by books.His mother and father are books lovers and are very fond of
reading. Since childhood J.K. Rowling has aspired to become a writter.When she was six years old,
she had written children’s stories about rabbit and at theage of eleven wrote other stories
After adult J.K. Rowling attended the University of Exeter-England majoring in France. She
decided to go to Portugal after completing her education and teaching English. There she ended her
bachelor period with married a Portuguese journalist,Jorge Arantes. The couple is blessed with one
daughter,Jesicca,born in 1993.But her marriage must end in divorce. After divorce, J.K. Rowling
decided to move to Edinburgh.In this city,she experienced economic difficulties.
When in this difficulty, J.K. Rowling continued her writing which had been delayed. The
writing idea of Harry Potter was born when she boarded a train from Manchester to London in
1990. When she arrived in Eddinburgh, J.K. Rowling has completed three chapters of Harry Potter
and the Philosopher’s Stone
After experiencing several rejections, J.K. Rowling finally managed to market the book.
Harry Potter and Philosopher’s Stone to the Bloomsbuty publisher. In 1997 this book became one of
the best-selling books and was translated into various languages.
In the summer of 2000, the first three books of Harry Potter : Harry Potter and the
Philosopher Stone,Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and Prisoners of
Azkaban had produced 480 million US Dollars in just three years. The books were printed more of
35 million copies in 35 languages.
The fourth book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, was printed for the first time in July
2000 with 5,3 million copies with an additional order of 1,8 million. Rowling, who is now the
richest woman in Britain, designed to write seven books for the Harry Potter Series
Harrry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth book was released in June 2003 after
being delayed simultaneously in the world, three years after the fourth book appeared.
The sixth book titled Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was also launched
simultaneously through out the world on the night of July 16th 2005. The launch of this book
received more attention from it’s fans. J.K. Rowling it self held an event at Edinburgh Castle where
she took time to meet interested people for her book. The sixth book also became the first in the
history of publishing sold 6,9 million copies in just 24 hours.
The final series, or the seventh book, entitled Harry Potter and the Deathl Hallows, was
published in July 2007.The book launch also recorded hidtory again, selling 11 million copies just
24 hours after it launch.

Harry Potter novels have sold more than 450 million copies in worldwide and have been
appointed to the big screen produced by Warner Bross. The Harry Potter film has also become the
most succesful serial film all time. Beside the Harry Potter series, she also published many other
books like Cormoran Strikes series,Very Good Lives, Quidditch : Trough the Ages, The Tales of
Beedle the Bard, Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them, The Casual Vacancy, and some short
story complementary to Harry Potter.
J.K. Rowling was along widow after her first marriage ran aground. She again found her
heart and decided to get married at the December 2001 with Dr.Neil Murray.The couple was
bleshing with two children, David Gordon Rowling Murray was born on March 4th 2003, and
Mackenzie Jean Rowling Murray was born on January 23rd 2005.
