Slide 8 - Manage Production - Create Process Manufacturing Work Order

Slide notes
If the plant parameter is enabled for process manufacturing, you can optionally set the default work method to process manufacturing. You can create a
standard work order for discrete or process manufacturing based on the work method.
There are two ways to create a standard work order for process manufacturing - based on the process name or primary output. The process name is a
unique identifier for a specific process manufacturing work definition that could produce multiple outputs. The work definition name indicates the way the
primary output is produced and can represent a production line. The work definition for a standard work order is automatically selected based on the
primary production method, where production priority equals 1.You can search and select another process name depending on the primary product, batch
quantity, work definition name, and production priority. The details of the process and work definition are defaulted based on the production priority equal to
1.
You can optionally update the batch quantity or the primary output item quantity; based on the update to one, the other is recalculated.
You can import process manufacturing work orders through FBDI or using the REST service processWorkOrders. There is a separate FBDI template to
import process manufacturing work orders apart from discrete manufacturing work orders.

Slide 9 - Manage Production - Edit Process Manufacturing Work Order

Slide notes
The new attributes that are shown for the process manufacturing work orders are in the process and primary output regions. You can optionally update the
batch quantity or the primary output item quantity; based on the update to one, the other is recalculated. You can reschedule the work order by updating the
start or completion dates, add attachments and capture values for the descriptive flex fields (DFF).

Slide 10 - Manage Production - Edit Operation Outputs

Slide notes
Apart from the existing operation items and resources; operation outputs are available only for process manufacturing work orders. You can specify multiple
output items for an operation, one of them can be primary output, and others can be co-products or by-products. You can add output items manually in the
work order as well as update or delete them. The other attributes of the output item that can be updated are output type, quantity, completion type and cost
allocation details.
Completion type of an output can either be automatic or manual. Automatic means the output completion will be reported automatically when a work order
operation is completed. Manual means the output completion must be manually reported by the user independent of when a work order operation is
completed.
Cost allocation specifies whether the cost of an output is rolled up or manually entered. Cost allocation percentage represents the percentage of costs that
will be allocated to the output up through the operation where it is being produced. Total cost allocation percentage cannot exceed 100% for all outputs in an
operation. If the cost of an output is manually entered, then select fixed value.
Also, attachment and DFF are supported for the output items to capture additional information.

Slide 11 - Manage Production - Scale Process Manufacturing Work Order

Slide notes
You can scale an unreleased work order up or down by input or output item. Only proportional scaling is supported - based on scaling percent, batch
quantity, input, output and resource quantity are recalculated. To scale based on an input item/ output item – user would select an item and click on Scaling
button. It would bring up a pop-up where the user would be allowed to enter the new quantity in the same UOM or a percentage. When it is saved – scaling
would be invoked. User can choose the appropriate method and reschedule the work order.
You cannot perform scaling based on ad hoc component and ad hoc output Item. You cannot put new quantity as zero.
You can also modify batch quantity/ primary output quantity and upon saving, the details in the work order like resource usage, required quantity for input
and output items will be recalculated.
Scaling is supported only through the user-interface.

Slide 14 - Execute Production – Report Primary Output, Co-Products and By-Products for Work Orders during
Operation Completions

Slide notes
Quick Complete and Complete with Details for process manufacturing work orders are initiated in the same way as that of discrete manufacturing work
orders. Process manufacturing work orders can have output items; products and by-products in any operation. Quick complete at any operation reports
these as setup in the work order. Only output items setup with completion type as “Automatic” in process manufacturing work order will be reported during
operation completion. If the output item is setup with completion type as “Manual” in process manufacturing work order, it will have to be reported manually.
Complete with Details provides the flexibility to change the output item quantities, add and update output items.
You can import operation transactions for process manufacturing work orders through FBDI or REST service. There is a separate FBDI template to import
operation transactions for process manufacturing work orders. Using the REST service operationTransactions, operation transactions can be created and
updated through integration with external systems.

Slide 15 - Execute Production - Report Primary Output, Co-Products and By-Products for Work Orders Manually

Slide notes
You can report output items in a standalone mode without reference to a parent transaction like operation transaction. These output items may be setup in
work order with completion type as “Manual” or may not be setup in the work order at all. This can be initiated from the dispatch list row for the work order
operation by clicking the “Report Output Transactions” action icon. The output items setup in the work order operation with completion type as “Manual” will
be defaulted in the “Report Output Items” page.
You can report ad hoc output items not setup in the work order manually through user interface or import using FBDI or REST service. There is a separate
FBDI template to import material transactions for process manufacturing work orders. This template can be used to import output item transactions. Using
the REST service materialTransactions, output transactions can be created and updated through integration with external systems.

Slide 16 - Execute Production - Capture E-Signatures and E-Records

Slide notes
Using Oracle E-Signatures and E-Records you can securely capture, store, retrieve, and print e-records and e-signatures to fulfill US Food and Drug
Administration's (FDA) 21 CFR Part 11 requirement for regulated industries.
Electronic Records and Electronic Signatures are already supported in discrete manufacturing. In this release – they have been enhanced to support
process manufacturing transactions also.
You can enable capturing inline electronic signatures and generate electronic records for Process Manufacturing Work Order Output transaction. A new
BPM task ‘Work Order Output Transaction’ has been created for it.
The Existing BPM Tasks are used for both Discrete and Process Manufacturing Work Orders for:
• Work Order Operation Transaction and
• Work Order Material Transaction
The eRecord templates have been modified to include Process Manufacturing transactions attribute details for these transaction types. Work Method has
been added as a new attribute to the BPM Task payload for both Discrete and Process Manufacturing Work Orders. The new attribute can be used to define
the BPM rules to determine the approvers.
You can also use capture electronic signatures and generate electronic records for in the Process Manufacturing enabled Organizations for Production
Exception Closure.

Slide 17 - Execute Production - Create Ad-Hoc WIP Inspection and Enter Inspection Results from Dispatch List

Slide notes
You can initiate ad-hoc inspections directly from the dispatch list. By clicking on the inspection icon for a specific row in the dispatch list, you can create an
ad hoc WIP inspection in the context of a work order operation to record inspection results against work in process and the product in discrete
manufacturing work orders and additionally co-products and by-products in process manufacturing work orders. You can also specify the item and quantity
to inspect and select the appropriate inspection plan in order to enter inspection results.
After the inspection is completed, you can decide or use the inspection actions, such as create a nonconformance, display a message, or send a
notification, to guide how to proceed with work order processing. Ad hoc WIP inspection does not influence the completion of the operation or product, co-
product, or by-product. Saved inspections can be viewed later through the work order history.
With quick access to ad hoc WIP inspection from the dispatch list, you have the flexibility to enter inspection results at the appropriate time during work in
process or after an output item has been produced.
If mandatory inspection plan is associated for a work order operation, inline WIP inspections can be initiated for process work orders while performing quick
complete or complete with details action. The inspection quantity is the transaction quantity. Inspection during transaction provides the disposition quantities
for the quantity inspected. The output completion quantity is based on the accepted quantity as determined by inspection. The rejected quantity from
inspection can either be reworked or scrapped.
For process manufacturing work orders, ad hoc WIP inspection rather than inline WIP inspection from the dispatch list is recommended.

Slide 18 -
Execute Production - Genealogy for Process Manufacturing Work Order

Slide notes
You can trace end-to-end lot genealogy of products and by-products completed at different work order operations. You can review and analyze the parent-
child relationships between lot-controlled input and output items.
For all output lots completed in an operation, all of the material lots issued up to the operation have a child relationship in genealogy.
This would help in investigating and resolving product quality issues and customer complaints.

Slide 19 -
Execute Production - Generate Work Order Traveler for Process Manufacturing Work Orders

Slide notes
The work order traveler for discrete work orders is a PDF file that has the details of the work order, work order operations, materials and resources and also
the attachments. For process work orders, there is a separate template which displays the process name, output items for each operation etc.
The work order traveler can be generated from the dispatch list by selecting the required row and then the appropriate action from the action menu. You can
print the work order traveler as required.

Slide 21 -
Execute Production - Transfer transactions from Production to Costing for Process Manufacturing Work Orders

Slide notes
This is an ESS program, which can be scheduled or run on demand. The manufacturing execution transaction details and work order status updates are
transferred to costing for accurate costing of the work orders. The resource transactions for only costed resources, all operation transactions data, and work
order status updates are interfaced to costing, from the Oracle Manufacturing Cloud. The processing logic of this ESS job has no changes from discrete.
Costing of process work orders require the following extra parameters:
o Cost Allocation Factor for each product– Fixed or percentage
o Batch quantity (used for calculating scrap, variances etc.
o Output types and quantities
These are provided through a data base View.
