Alabama Gladiators Semi Pro Football Code of Conduct Rules

for All Participants and Team Dues


Alabama Gladiators Coaching Ethics:

The primary goal of coaches is the development of players to be better citizens. The players will
be taught sportsmanship and fair play, these teachings should always govern their behavior while
at practice and at games. Coaches shall be responsible for the conduct of all players, members of
the coaching staff and spectators. This includes the time periods before, during, and after league
games and other team events.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will emphasize that good athletes are good citizens, and both
are physically and mentally alert.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will strive to make every football activity serve as a training
ground for life, and as a basis for good mental and physical health.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will emphasize that winning a game is the result of
teamwork.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will treat each player, opposing coach, fans with respect and
dignity.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will not criticize players in front of spectators.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will accept the decisions of officials.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will not criticize the officials, the opposing team, the coaches,
fans or parents, through language or gesture.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will learn the strengths and weakness of his players so they
he might place them into situations where they have a maximum opportunity to achieve success.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will protect the health and safety of his players by insisting
that all of the activities under his control be conducted for their psychological and physiological
welfare.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will abide by doctor’s decision in all matters of players health
and injuries, and physical ability to play.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will set an example in personal conduct at all times.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches shall not use abusive or profane language before anyone
connected with the game.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches shall not be under the influence of alcohol or dangerous
drugs. In general there shall be no use of drugs, tobacco, or alcohol products at any game,
practice field, or in public as a representative by the head coach, assistant coaches, team
players, official or administrator. The head coach and owner are responsible for enforcing this
rule.

• The Alabama Gladiators coaches will not smoke or use any form of tobacco while on the field of
play during games, scrimmages or practices.

Alabama Gladiators Players Code of Conduct:

Alabama Gladiators Semi-Pro Football Coaches play a vital role in encouraging physical, social
and emotional well being of each player. Therefore, it is essential for Storm Football players to
embrace the values of good sportsmanship, discipline and character.

• The Alabama Gladiators Players will have fun!

•The Alabama Gladiators Players will be good sports (win or lose), be honest, fair and always
show good sportsmanship to all coaches, players, officials and fans.

• The Alabama Gladiators Players will learn and practice the value of commitment to the team for
the entire season, whether on or off of the field.

• The Alabama Gladiators Players will put personal goals aside for the betterment of the team.

• The Alabama Gladiators Players will abide by doctor’s decision in all matters of players health
and injuries, and physical ability to play.

• The Alabama Gladiators Players will show courtesy and respect to coaches, teammates, fans,
officials, & opponents.

• The Alabama Gladiators Players will realize that athletic contests, including practice sessions
are educational experiences and opportunities.

• The Alabama Gladiators Players will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct.

• The Alabama Gladiators Players will not engage in rude behavior.

• The Alabama Gladiators Players will treat everyone, including coaches, parents, players, and
officials, with respect regardless of race, creed, color, nationality, or sex.
Alabama Gladiators Disciplinary Actions For Players
All players must abide by Alabama Gladiators Code of Conduct for a football team to be
successful. In the event of a brain freeze, the following actions are to be taken to prevent
repeat non-productive actions.

I. Minor Offense:

1) Unable to be on time and lined up to stretch at practice at the designated time.


2) Unable to keep your mind on FOOTBALL.
3) Unable to keep practice field clean of trash and debris. Team Punishment
4) Excessive loud and obscene language at practice.

1st Offense- Verbal Warning


2nd Offense- 2 Laps around practice field
3rd Offense- 2 Laps around practice field, and extra sprints after team conditioning

II. Major Offense:

1) Disrespecting coaching staff or players by directing obscene language in an


offensive manner.
2) Provoking a fight towards coaching staff, player, or spectator during practice
or game.
3) Using loud and obscene language at football games. (Women and Children
attend our football games; we want to be positive role models.)

1st Offense- 1 Quarter Suspension in the upcoming game or during a game with 5 Laps
at next attended practice
2nd Offense- 1 Half Suspension in the upcoming game or during a game with 10 Laps at
next attended practice
3rd Offense- 1 Game Suspension

III. Zero Tolerance

1) Fighting At Practice

1st Offense- Immediate Suspension of 3 Games


2nd Offense- Removed From Team For Entire Season

2) Fighting At Game Resulting In Ejection

1st Offense- Immediate Exit From The Stadium, Suspension of 5 Games, and $200.00
Fine to League

2 Offense- Removed From Team For Entire Season
If any of the above actions are taken and you choose not to comply, you will be
subject to a 1 Game suspension.
IV. Team Dues

1) Every Alabama Gladiators player must pay the team dues of $150 to be
eligible to play.

*The team dues are due by February 1st 2011.


*When the season starts, there will be no refunds for quitting or Code of
Conduct Violations.
*All money received from team dues will be placed in the team account
for stadium, lights, and custodial rental fees associated with playing
games.

2) Every Alabama Gladiators player must pay $110.00 for their own game
jerseys and pants.

*Money for jerseys and pants are due by January 15th 2011.
*The sooner we get the money in the better.

long as I am a member of the Alabama Gladiators Football Team. I understand the
financial responsibility before I can be part of the football team.
