ABSTRACT
In this study the statistical data modelling for Agricultural production among south Indian
state is carried out. The study has emphasis more on understanding various statistical measures
of agricultural production and also predictive modelling. Data analysis is carried out with the
help of descriptive statistics, Boxplot displays, Growth rate computation for agricultural
productions and forecasting through Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA)
modelling. The study is based on a secondary data sourced from Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
website for a period of 37 years 1980-81 to 2016-17. This study will be helpful in exploring
different indicators on agricultural production, more specific to south Indian states. Policy
makers may make use of our study reports as the study is conducted with all valid statistical
investigation methodology.
Keywords: Statistical data modelling, South Indian agricultural production, Growth index,
Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) modelling, statistical investigation.
