Introduction

Speaking is part of our life. It is the common way to express our feelings and opinion.
But can we identify what type of speech we are using? Let's see!

The presentation of Group 10 is all about Persuasive Speech. Then, what is persuasive
speech? Persuasive speech is a type of speech where the speaker has a goal of
convincing the audience to accept his or her point of view. It is meant to convince the
listeners. The objective of the speaker in the end of the speech is to make the listener to
do something or think something differently not like how they think at the beginning. In
this presentation, let's see how are we going to convince our listeners and change their
thinking.

What is persuasive speech? Why is persuasive speech important? How are you going
to deliver persuasive speech? We don't know that sometimes we are doing this kind of
speech in our everyday life but let us help you to identify and make you some progress
on doing persuasive speech.

II. Discussion

What is Persuasive Speech?

- A persuasive speech is a specific type of speech in which the speaker has a goal of
convincing the audience to accept his or her point of view. The speech is arranged in
such a way as to hopefully cause the audience to accept all or part of the expressed view.

How to make a Persuasive Speech?

-To write a persuasive speech, you choose a topic about which people disagree or
can have differing opinions. Your persuasive argument will be made stronger if you can
demonstrate that you are passionate about the topic and have a strong opinion one way
or the other. Then, you outline and draft your persuasive speech by taking a position on
the topic and outlining your support for your position. It is often helpful to also discuss why
the "other side" is incorrect in their beliefs about the topic. Make sure you catch your
audience's attention and that you summarize key points and "take-aways" as you go.
The times that you are using persuasive speech:

- A teenager who is attempting to convince her parents that she needs to go and hang
out with her friends because it's her friend's birthday.

- A SSG president trying to convince the school administrators to allow aquintance party
in Tanza National Trade School.

- A lawyer giving a closing argument in court, arguing about whether the defendant is
innocent or guilty of the crime.

TYPES OF PERSUASIVE SPEECH:

Factual persuasive speech is based on whether or not a particular topic is true, and is
backed by concrete evidence. This type of speech persuades the audience as to whether
something exists or does not exist, whether it happened or did not happen. For instance,
a college student giving a speech about Neil Armstrong landing on the moon in 1969 is
an example of factual persuasive speech. The moon landing by Neil Armstrong is well
documented and has concrete evidence that supports the fact that it did happen.

Value persuasive speech is a speech about whether or not something is right or wrong.
It questions the moral or ethical aspect of an issue. For example, have you ever thought
about whether or not capital punishment is moral or immoral? If you were to give a speech
about your stance on the morality of capital punishment, that would be an example of
value persuasive speech.

Policy persuasive speech is a speech given to convince an audience to either support

or reject a policy, rule, or candidate. For instance, if the president of the United States
disagreed with the current foreign policy and gave a speech to Congress with the goal of
convincing them to agree with his viewpoint, it would be considered a policy persuasive
speech.

Persuasive Speech is a speech where the goal of the speaker is to convince his or her
audience about a certain topic he or she is talking about. Here in persuasive speech you
must choose a topic which you are familiar. It is because you will be able to explain your
side and make it more convincing if you not the topic that you are talking about. You must
be confident to the words that is coming out to your mouth. We are always using
persuasive speaking in our daily lives. For example, if we are trying to change the others
mind because of their foolish decisions in life or if we are trying to convince our parents
to let you go home late because you have to finish some school activities. The factors as
body language, the willingness of the audience, and the environment in which the speech
is given, all affect the success of a persuasive speech.

First of all, a simple meaning for persuasive speech is a type of speech which the
speaker has a goal to convince the audience to accept his idea or her point of view.
Picking a topic you care about and are interested in. For example, persuasive speech for
argument in something logical or emotional, you need to do a lot of research about your
topic, sometimes it's pressure but you need to do with enjoyment. These best persuasive
is something you like learning about. So, it could be willingness to others who can hear
that topic. Again, it can be logical ang emotional, but it depends on the topic which choose
the speaker.

The aim of a persuasive speech is to inform, educate and convince or motivate an
audience to do something. So, to make persuasive speech you must pick a topic that you
are interested in, research your topic and understand the consequences of your topic that
you would speech and you must understand the perspective of your audience too. You
must have passion on making your persuasive speech so that your audience would be
interested on your speech. Because the main goal of persuasive speech is to educate
and motivate your audience.

Based on my understanding about our topic Persuasive Speech, it is a speech which
the intention of the speaker is to convince or influence his/her audience to accept his/her
persuasive or point of view. There are 3 types of persuasive speech and that are the
Factual, Value and Policy. Factual Persuasive Speech persuades the audience whether
something exist or does not exist or whether it happened or not. The second one is the
Value Persuasive Speech is a speech where something or situation whether right or
wrong, it questions the moral or ethical aspects of an issue. The third one is the Policy
Persuasive Speech it is a speech given to convince or influence an audience to support
or reject the policy, rule or candidate.

Speech is a spoken language, expression of ideas and opinions that is made by

someone who is speaking in front of a group of people. There are different kinds of speech
and one of these is the Persuasive speech, in this kind of speech the speaker is intending
to make his audience believe on what he is saying. For example, the speaker is a
candidate for being a mayor so that his speech was about persuading a group of people
to vote him.

Chelsea Arioste

Persuasive speech tend to persuade or convince a group of people to support the

speaker's argument. It may persuade someone to change their beliefs and consider the
speaker's opinion. To start a persuasive speech, the speech should capture the attention
of the audience by giving some interesting introduction. Famous quotes and questions
can also make them listen. the speaker should also introduce the topic and reasons why
the speaker chose it. The body of the speech carry the main content and ideas. The
speaker can use facts, evidence, personal experience or experience of someone they
know to make the content more credible. The body of the speech need to be
interconnected with each other with a good transition from one topic to other well
executed. The conclusion has to captivate the entire content of the speech. For this the
speaker need to have strong conclusion. Restating by a few sentences summarizing the
main topic contained in the speech can create an effective conclusion. And when spoken
with the right intonation and passion, this will be a convincing speech for the audience.
