Comprehensive examination will have a close book and an open-book section. Only text-books, reference books,
class/tutorial notes and course material (if any provided) will be allowed in the open book examination.

Tutorial hour will be used for a quick review of the highlights of the material covered in the lectures, clarification of
doubts and problem solving. It is planned to have six tutorial (continuous) evaluations (15 Marks each) including
twoassignments (closed book),Four Quizzes (Closed Book) will be conducted in entire semester. Best Five of the
overall continuous evaluation components will be considered for final evaluation. Assignments: A set of problems
will be assigned periodically, of which the instructor will specify one to be solved by the students in the tutorial hour
of the following week. Quizzes:A short quiz based on the lectures covered recently. Students must bring the
assignment problems sheets without fail. Only scientific non-programmable calculators are allowed during the
tutorials, tests and comprehensive examination.

8. Notices:Notices, if any, will be displayed on the Nalanda & Department of Chemistry Notice Board only.
9. Make-up Policy:Make up would be considered only for genuine reasons. Make-up for continuous evaluation
(assignments/quizzes) will be considered (for genuine cases) only if more than one component (assignments/quizzes)
is missed by a student.
