"HOW CHRISTIANS CAN HELP MUSLIMS".

INTRODUCTION

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim
peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God
reigns!" Isa 52:7 Rom 10:15

John 17:18, 20 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the
world.... [20] MY PRAYER is not for them alone. I pray also for those who WILL
BELIEVE in me through their message.

Paul in a night vision saw a man crying for help asking for Paul to come to Macedonia to
help them:

Act 16:9 During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and
begging him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

over 1.8 Billions Muslims around the world are crying unto us to come and help them
out of the the bondage called ISLAM. As a Christian we either shun the cry of Muslims
or heed the call like Paul did. The church is burdened with the passion for the dying
souls, why shall we ignore such a ripen field of souls?

Jesus our Master and Lord said Go Ye!! why shall we ignore the souls of dying
Muslims? Shall we continue to sit at our comfort zones of churchainity while souls
throng to hell in their thousands? How do we help our Muslims friends, in our working
place and around us to get out of this mess call religion?

The lecture will open our eyes to the reasons we need to heed the call and will help
those having passions to preach the gospel to the Muslim world and it will be my
pleasure to spur many a Christians who are indifference about evangelizing the Muslim
world without breaking an edge.
WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?

The word Christian comes from the Greek word christianos which is derived from the
word christos or Christ, which means "anointed one." A Christian, then, is someone who
is a follower of Christ. The first use of the word "Christian" in the Bible is found in Acts
11:26, "And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." It is found only twice
more in Acts 26:28 and 1 Pet. 4:16.

A christian is anyone - be it in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Nigeria or any other part of the
world - who follows Christ that means he follow Christ in the way he is living his life
according to the calls of the Christ and what is the call of the Christ.Christiams were
named in Antioch, Prior to this time, followers of Jesus Christ were simply known as
“people of the Way” (Acts 9:2, 24:14) in reference to their lifestyle, i.e., the way of life
they lived. In other words, it was their lifestyle that identified them as being followers of
Jesus Christ, not their words. So, we need to go to the root of the people who were first
called Christians in order to identify what is a Christian life is.

Christianity teaches that there is only one God in all existence, that God is a Trinity, that
Jesus Christ is God in flesh, that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone, that
Jesus died on the cross, and that Jesus rose from the dead in a glorified, physical body.
The religion that contradicts any of these teachings is not Christian.

Jesus made a call to people and those who heed his call are his followers

John 14:6. " ....... I am the way, the truth and the life"

Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”

Mattew 11:28. "...come unto me all he who are weary and heavy laden...."

Mattew 19 :21. "......and come and follow me"

1 Timothy 2:3-4 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be
saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

1 John 4:14: And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the
Saviour of the world.
How can I follow Christ? Is it by going to Church, by praying five times a day, by singing
in the choir?

NO!! but by doing this mentioned below

John 3: 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a
man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Romans 10: 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over
all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Acts 2:34-36 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The
LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same
Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

WHO IS A MUSLIM?
The word "Muslim" means one who submits or better still surrender to the will of Allah.
The first statement of faith launching anime into Islam is known as
the Shahaadah (Testimony of Faith), and is as follows: "There is no deity except Allah
(God) and Muhammad is his Messenger.”

Some quoranic references to islam

In a broader sense, anyone who willingly submits to the will of Allah is a Muslim.

FIVE PILLARS OF FAITH

 Shahada: Declaration of faith.

 Solat: Five Obligatory Prayer.
 Zakāt: Compulsory Almsgiving for Charity.
 Sawm: 30 days Fasting in the month of Ramaddan.
 Hajj: pilgrimage to Mecca.

SIX ARTICLES OF FAITH

 Belief in Allah, The Only God.
 Belief in the Angels.
 Belief in Holy Books.
 Belief in the Prophets.
 Belief in the Day of Judgment.
 Belief in God's predestination.

Fail in any of these and you are never a Muslim. Muslims claim all the prophets
preceding Prophet Muhammad, are considered Muslims. The question we need to ask
how and where any of the biblical prophets did performed this Islamic faith as explained
above. It is worthy of notice also that we must not judge Muslims by their characters
today but by the Instructions of Allah as prescribed in the Quran and the deen of
Muhammad as found in the authentic Hadith

HOW CAN CHRISTIAN DO THE RESCUE MISSION?

There are lots of Muslims on the other side of the river calling us to come to their rescue
are we going to be skeptical or cynical to this cry by being indifference or by sitting on
the fence acting as if nothing happened and we go by our businesses. Those calling are
our friends, families, friends, neighbors, colleague.

Muslim evangelism is not about winning an argument, but leading Muslims to Christ
with the Gospel. Discussions may get heated and intense at times - that's okay. But
the purpose of Muslim evangelism is not to show why you are right and Islam is
wrong. It is to communicate the truth of the gospel! The message is to be the
offence! Not you!

Wherever possible, when talking to Muslims speak about Christianity as factually

true - "Jesus did this," "Jesus said this," "people heard and saw him," etc. Keep
away from the subjective line of approach-- "it works for me," "this is how I feel about
it," this is my testimony."

Before meeting with your Muslim friends pray for wisdom.

Muslims will respect the text you quote, but not your personal opinion. Trust in the
power of God the Holy Spirit working through the word! Cite texts directly from the
Scriptures with attribution. Jesus says, Paul says.... It will not help Muslims to hear
your personal opinion on biblical issues. So, don’t say "I think," or "it seems to me" or
"I feel like…" Muslims interpret your thoughts, your take on things or your feelings as
part of the corruption of the Bible.

Always remember that it is not us who convert the Muslims to Christ but God Himself
(in His time)! Psalm 127:1

Remember that evangelism isn’t complete after you first present the Gospel
message to a Muslim. Evangelism has to continue even after they repent and give
their lives to Christ. They have to sit under the ministry of the Word. Evangelism of a
Muslim is complete only after they are baptized, brought to the Lord’s Supper and
sat under the preaching of the Word at church. In other words, evangelism never
ends. Discipleship is evangelism.

Relationships and friendships with Muslims whenever and wherever possible.

Don't forget that a prophet is without honor in his own home. The chances of Muslim
converts leading their own unbelieving family members (or someone close to
them) to Christ by themselves is remote. Encourage them as they give witness to
what they have learned, but also pray for God to bring other people into the picture
to help evangelize their families.

Don't force things. If your Muslim friends balk, ridicule and otherwise are not
interested, back off. Find another time and place. If after repeated attempts to
communicate the gospel, and someone still shows an unwillingness to hear what
you have to say, "shake the dust off your feet and move on to a new town!"

Be willing to get your Muslim friends the resources they need: be willing to provide
them with a Bible (not just a New Testament), the right book to read, and certainly
an invitation to your home and later an invitation to attend your church or to a Bible
study, etc. Pray for opportunities to evangelize Muslims. Make sure to let your
Muslim friends know that you regularly attend a church. Do not disconnect your
evangelism effort from the church. Pray for your church - that God would bless the
preaching of his word, that he would bring Muslims into our midst, and that he would
bless the church with growth.

A Christian approach to Muslim evangelism simply means telling Muslims the truth in
love without changing it. Trust that God the Holy Spirit will penetrate hearts and
minds of Muslims with “the Gospel”

Muslims love to sing Islamic hymns that tell the stories of the Quran. Islamic hymn
singing is singing the words of the Quran. Show your Muslim friends some samples
of Christian biblical songs with verses directly taken from Scriptures. In other words,
sing the Bible to them! The role of music in human culture is to join people together.
Biblically we are commanded to sing the praises of Christ. There are 694 references
to singing or music making in Holy Scriptures. Participatory singing is a very
significant matter biblically. There will be no singing in Hell, but the saints in Heaven
will sing everlastingly. That is really amazing and remarkable! Let us show Muslims
what we will be doing in Heaven.

“Fear God and give Him Glory, because the hour of His judgment has come, and
Worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.” (Rev.
14:7) Other things we can do to help our Muslim friends are mentioned below

We preach the gospel of grace to them as commanded by our LORD Matthew 28:19

We tell them about the saving grace of our LORD Jesus Christ John 1:17 and 29

We engage them in discussions and friendly debate Act 17

We show them love as Jesus demanded of us

We Romans 5:8 Mattew 5:44 Luke 6:28

We pray unto God for their salvation via the encounter of the Holy Spirit

Lastly, it was mentioned in the Quran that the followers of Jesus are SUPERIOR till
resurrection sura 3:55 and sura 61:14 I admonish the Muslims here and watching to
join me in following Jesus so that we can be superior till resurrection day. If you indeed
want to be in the superior you need to follow Jesus Christ. I welcome you to the fold
come let us all follow Jesus and that is the greatest help you can get from me. Amen
