Quezon City recorded the highest number of robbery and murder cases while
Davao City had the most number of rape cases, according to a police tally in the second

The size of the 2 cities, among the country's most populous, was partly to blame
for the volume, said Senior Supt. Benigno Durana, Philippine National Police
spokesman.
The PNP recorded 42 rape cases in Davao City from April to June. Quezon City
was second with 41, followed by Manila with 32, Cagayan de Oro with 24, and

“Kasi you cannot police the dwellings, pero overall I can say na talagang bumaba
yung mga rape cases outside of the homes. Usually ang rape cases are being committed
by people who are actually known to the victim,” Durana said.(You cannot police the

down. Usually, rape is committed by someone who actually knows the victim.)
Davao Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales said policemen
would coordinate with village officials to intensify information campaigns on rape.
"Pagdating sa rape cases, intensify po natin ang information drive sa mga kababaihan
kung papaano makakaiwas na maging biktima ng rape at makipag coordinate din kami
sa barangay," he said.
