Background of the Study:

Today the Internet has taken a firm place in people's lives. It is difficult to imagine a young man who
at least once a day did not check for updates in social networks and did not leaf through the news lines.
The modern reality requires us to stay in touch and keep abreast of the latest news and trends. However,
does this trend affect the performance of students? When social media such as Facebook, YouTube and
Twitter appeared, our world was divided into online and offline. Social media are online technology
platforms that help to connect people together far and near. It is used to build relationship among
people. With their help, we can communicate with each other, even on different continents, listen to
music, read books, look at photos and much more. Social media have greatly simplified our lives and
tightly tied to ourselves .

During the time spent discovering individuals for acquaintances, youngsters go into different
connections and get the chance to speak with a relatively boundless number of individuals and premium
gatherings, with a wide range of identities, take in a considerable measure of stories, have the
opportunity to trade suppositions and talk about issues important to them. Therefore, users of social
networks, in most cases, are a representative of the younger generation.

What Is Social Media? Social media is computer-based technology that facilitates the sharing of ideas,
thoughts, and information through the building of virtual networks and communities. design, social
media is internet-based and gives users quick electronic communication of content. Content includes
personal information, documents, videos, and photos. Users engage with social media via computer,
tablet or smartphone via web-based software or web application, often utilizing it for messaging.
Method:
At this research I used case study. Case study is a descriptive and exploratory analysis of a
person, group, or event.

Research Instruments:
Survey questionnaires is the instrument I used to gather data.

Respondents:
The researcher has 15 respondents which is 12 females and 3 males. The respondents was
from Grade-9 students Of Alicia National High School.

This table represents the Social Media Account they oftenly used.
Most of the respondents use FACEBOOK with a frequency of 12 and it
has a percentage of 36.36%. It was followed by YOUTUBE, INSTAGRAM,
TWITTER, and MOBILE LEGEND. And lastly, TIKTOK, SNAPCHAT, GOOGLE
and others which has the lowest frequency and percentage.

In this table shows the time spent of the student in Social Media. As
we can see, most of the respondents spent 2-4 hours in social media
with a frequency of i and has a percentage of 53.33%. It followed by 5-7
hours with a frequency of 4 and it has a percentage of 26.67%. Next is
14-16 hours with a frequency of 2 and has a percentage of 13.33%.
Lastly, 8-10 hours with a frequency of 1 and it has a percentage of
6.67%.

ETHICAL CONSIDERATION:
Ethical Considerations are disciplinary rules that we should consider
in making good decisions. For me, using social media is does not affect
our study. It is up to you on how can you handle the situation. Always
remember how to manage our time. We should always remember how
social media affects to our study? Thus, social media help us to focused
on our study? Is there any positive and negative effect of social media in
our study.
This some ethics consideration is important to everyone especially for
us as a students. We must value it and apply in our daily living, because
this ethical consideration will help us to be a better student.
