Dear Henry,

We are excited to have you join us on the TU project! We are very much looking forward
to working with you. In order for you to undertake your work for the TU project, you must
first complete training.

Important Information:
All project teams will be required to utilize Workfront to receive task instructions, provide
updates, and communicate the completion of tasks. We will also be using SharePoint
and JIRA. All of your login credentials will be sent to you prior to the technical
orientation. Test your login credentials and report right away whether or not you were
able to login. Please complete reading the TU Resource Handbook latest by Thursday,
September 6. You will then be scheduled to complete a technical orientation. Someone
else will be reaching out to you today about your login credentials.

TU Resource Handbook:
By following the link below to the TU Handbook (also attached to this email), you will
find step-by-step instructions on how to use this project software, as well as instructions
on how to perform the various job roles associated with TU.

While the Handbook is attached to this email, to ensure you are always reading the
most up-to-date2 version of the Handbook in the future, please access it via SharePoint

2
by following this link (you will be able to log in after you receive your login credentials
and your technical orientation).

To begin, please thoroughly review Sections, 2, 4, 5, and 8 of the TU Resource

Handbook, which include system requirements, software training (Workfront,
SharePoint, JIRA), test data selection, and instructions for writing and implementing test
cases.

Tasks:
Soon after you complete your technical training, all of your assignments will be made
via Workfront. Please thoroughly review the training material, including browser and
operating system requirements. All task information will be communicated via
Workfront, including assignments, submission notifications, progress updates, and due
dates.

After completing the training as outlined above, we will schedule a short training call to
cover some major points for your assigned role.

Choose the best answer choice for each of the following questions based on the
passage.

Plant-based diets in comparison to diets rich in animal products are more sustainable because
they use many fewer natural resources and are less taxing on the environment. Given the global
population explosion and increase in wealth, there is an increased demand for foods of animal
origin. Environmental data are rapidly accumulating on the unsustainability of current worldwide
food consumption practices that are high in meat and dairy products. Natural nonrenewable
resources are becoming scarce, and environmental degradation is rapidly increasing. At the
current trends of food consumption and environmental changes, food security and food
sustainability are on a collision course. Changing course (to avoid the collision) will require
extreme downward shifts in meat and dairy consumption by large segments of the world’s
population. Other approaches such as food waste reduction and precision agriculture and/or other
technological advances have to be simultaneously pursued; however, they are insufficient to
make the global food system sustainable. For millennia, meatless diets have been advocated on
the basis of values, and large segments of the world population have thrived on plant-based diets.
“Going back” to plant-based diets worldwide seems to be a reasonable alternative for a
sustainable future. Policies in favor of the global adoption of plant-based diets will
simultaneously optimize the food supply, health, environmental, and social justice outcomes for
the world’s population. Implementing such nutrition policy is perhaps one of the most rational
and moral paths for a sustainable future of the human race and other living creatures of the
biosphere that we share.

15. What is the author’s primary purpose in this passage?

A) To undermine the emphasis often put on the necessity for the consumption of animal
protein
B) To encourage the reader to eat a more balanced and healthy diet
C) To investigate the long term sustainability of plant-based diets
D) To promote the consumption of fruits and vegetables as opposed to other food groups
E) To inform about the environmental impact of animal protein based diets

16. Which of the following is the author most likely to disagree with
A) Plant based diets require fewer natural resources than those required by animal based diets
B) The population and wealth of the world are consistently increasing
C) High consumption of both meat and dairy products is no longer sustainable
D) The only w3ay to avoid a possible ‘collision’ is to switch to plant based diets
E) Plant-based diets are not new but have been in practice for millennia

17. Which of the following best describes the tone of the passage?
A) Informative and persuasive
B) Skeptical but hopeful
C) Cautiously optimistic
D) Very critical and urgent
E) Encouraging and positive

Choose the best answer choice for each of the following questions based on the
passage.

The aerospace industry is getting a boost in manufacturing its parts, making them safer and
stronger, through a revolutionary new approach called 3D printing or "additive" manufacturing –
a process which was invented at MIT in the late 1980s. In the traditional method, companies start
with a hunk of metal (or other material). Using milling machines and other tools, they cut or drill
away material in order to create the desired part. In contrast, 3D printing builds parts layer by
layer, adding material in just the right places to create the precise shapes needed. For aerospace
companies, this 3D printing or "additive" manufacturing offers the promise of making parts that
are better and stronger, enabling them to build airplanes and rockets that are safer, more reliable,
and better performing. GE uses 3D printing to build jet engine fuel nozzles, for instance, instead
of welding together 20 small pieces. Technology Review recently named additive manufacturing
one of its 10 "Breakthrough Technologies. "But this new industrial revolution is being held back
by a thorny problem. Tiny variations in parameters like temperature or raw material composition
can subtly alter how each layer of material is laid down. As a result, it is extraordinarily difficult
to build identical top-quality parts every single time. The industry has recognized this problem,
and is working hard to solve it. The most promising approach is meticulously monitoring all the
relevant parameters as a part is being built, then processing the information to determine if the
part meets all standards. That will ensure repeatability, consistency, and reliability. Several
companies are working on this idea, but one leader is Santa Fe, NM-based Sigma Labs, Inc.
(NASDAQ:SGLB). Sigma has developed sophisticated software that monitors the 3D process as
a part is being built, and determines whether the product meets quality standards. Its Process
Quality Assurance™ software is now being used in pilot projects at major aerospace
manufacturers.
