Get Canadian immigration/permanent residence in few months on the basis of your education, work

experience and english language skills!

Kharcha: under PKR 2 to 3 lakhs.
Sounds too good to be true?
Well, I got mine, and you can get yours too.
Here is how I got it done and how you can do it too:
Immigration is a vast topic and we can talk about it indefinitely. So, I will only focus on what you
really need to know if you want Canadian Immigration through the skilled programme.
There is a Canadian Immigration programme which is called the “Express Entry aka EE (Federal
Skilled Programme aka FSW)”.
In September 2017 I decided that I will get the Canadian Immigration through this programme
because it sounded easy, practical and do-able!
Official Express Entry website: https://www.canada.ca/…/immigrate-…/express-entry/works.html
Step 1: It was to get the Canadian assessment (equivalence) of my higher education.
There are a number of organizations who could have provided me with this.
I decided to get it done through the “World Education Services” aka WES. Because it is the quickest!
Expense was somewhere between PKR 20,000 to PKR 25,000.
Process included, me sending some documents to them and some documents through my university
where I studied.
Time this process took was not bad at all.
I initiated the WES process in September 2017 and by November 2017 I received the Canadian
equivalence of my education both in electronic and paper form.
What matters is the highest degree for which you have obtained the equivalence.
My highest degree was assessed as equivalent to a “Canadian Masters Degree”.
Basically, it was an easy process. Not expensive, difficult or time consuming.

Step 2: IELTS.
English jaisi bhi ho, degree jo bhi ho, aur jahan se bhi ki ho. They need an IELTS.
They need the General Training IELTS result to asses your english language ability.
So I booked my IELTS test in September 2017 for a test date in October 2017.
I gave the test in October 2017 and my results were out in November 2017.
IELTS costed somewhere between PKR 20,000 to PKR 25,000.
My IELTS band was overall 8 (L 8.5, R 9, W, 7.5, S 7.0).
This step was also pretty much simple, no complications.

Step 3: Work Experience.
Very easy and simple! Got a letter of experience from my employer in Quetta in November 2017.
Three years of work experience will give you maximum points for the work experience component.
Step 4: Police Certificates.
Again very easy! The CCPO offices in Pakistan issue these certificates. I went there and got mine on
the same day in November 2017!
Cost was zero. Even if you have to pay, it will be little.
I have lived in the UK too for some years, so a certificate from there was needed as well.
I applied online and cost was under PKR 10,000!
Received the UK certificate within a week in November 2017!
Official website for the UK Police Certificate: https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx
It was very easy and painless to get the Police Certificates both from Pakistan as well as the UK.
Step 5: To enter the Express Entry Draw.
Once you have the Canadian Educational Assessment (equivalence) and IELTS result in your hand.
You are eligible to enter the Express Entry Draw under the Federal Skilled Workers Programme.
What is this draw?
Basically, they take out a draw every few weeks. Where they send the “invitation to apply” to a few
thousand people at every draw!
For example if they are sending 3000 invitations to apply in a draw. The applicants will be ranked
based on their points, and top 3000 will receive the invitation to apply.
Points are based on mainly: age, work experience, education and IELTS.
So I entered the draw in November 2017 and my points were 469 (you can check your points on
their website).
Within a few days, there was a draw, The cut-off score was in 430’s and I got the invitation to apply
in November 2017 (you can look at the cut-off score for all the previous draws on the official
website).
Official website to check your score, to check previous cut-off scores and to enter the
draw: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
Step 6: Medical Examination.
It is mandatory to get the medical examination done (can be done before or after applying for the
PR).
Simple process at any IOM branch in Pakistan.
Cost is reasonable (exact figures available on the official website).
I did the Medical Examination with my family in November 2017.

Step 7: Apply for the PR (Permanent Residence).
Once you have the “Invitation to Apply” you are good to go to apply the Canadian PR.
Other than the documents mentioned above, you will need “proof of funds”.
This is needed because they want a proof that you have sufficient funds for initial settlement when
you land in Canada.
This amount will depend on if you are single, married, or married with children.
You only have to show this amount and do not have to pay! (Generally as a bank statement).
This amount which you have to show can be roughly around PKR 15 lakhs (little less if single and
little more if you have children).
I applied for the PR in December 2017!
You have to apply online. All of the documents are submitted electronically, including your passport!
The PR application’s online application form is like any other visa form. Of course a bit extensive, but
self explanatory.
The cost for the PR application can be anywhere between PKR 1 lakh to 2 lakh (depending on family
size of 1 to 3). Exact figures available on website.
I would not say that applying for the PR was complicated, however, attention to detail is needed. As
any minor mistake can lead to the refusal of the PR.
Official website to apply the PR once you have the invitation to
apply: https://www.canada.ca/…/servic…/immigration-citizenship.html
Step 7: Wait!
Once you apply for the PR, then wait!
30% of the applicants will get the approval within 2 months!
60% of the applicants will get the approval within 4 months!
90% of the applicants will get the approval within 6 months!
10% of the applicants can take longer than 6 months!
Unfortunately, I belong to the 10% category because my background check took a long time due to
my excessive travel history, as well as the travel pattern (yes i do crazy things)!
Moreover, 98% of the cases are resolved without an interview, but I belonged to the 2% category
and was interviewed due to my travel background.
Anyhow, my PR was approved 13 months after I applied for the PR (Along with my dependant family
members).
Generally PR is approved within 6 months in 90% of the cases.
In a nutshell, if your case is not crazy due to travel history or anything like that, and you belong to the
90% category, then expect your PR within a few months!
Even if things are a little complicated, then expect few more months and maximum an interview!
Step 8: Get your passport stamped and receive the Confirmation of Permanent Residence aka
COPR!
Once your online application is approved, you submit your passport at the nearest Canadian
consulate and get the visa to enter Canada as well as your COPR within a few days!
I received these in January 2019.
Step 9: Land in Canada!
Land in Canada before the expiry of your stamped visa and COPR.
You will get your PR card in Canada.
To become a Canadian national, you need to stay in Canada for a period of 3 years within any
period of 5 years!
Recap:

November 2018: Interviewed (not applicable to 98% of the applicants) and
January 2019: PR approved, passport stamped and COPR received (90% of the applicants get
within a few months, mine got significantly delayed).
Conclusion: If you want Canadian Immigration or the PR, now is the best time.
It is simple, easy and do-able.
I have no doubt in saying that this is the best programme if you are looking for immigration on skilled
basis.
Now I'm a permanent resident of Canada but I haven't even entered Canada once!
Even though my PR is now approved, I do not necessarily have to move to Canada.
Of course I have an option now.
I can do a soft landing to get my PR card issued and come back, and then take a few years to think
if I want to move to Canada or not.
Lastly, you do not need any consultant to go through this process. It has been reported and
observed that most of the consultants who are offering these services are non-qualified,
incompetent, unprofessional and rip-offs.
Many applicants have reported PR rejections and frauds due to consultants.
Everything is on the internet, you are the best person yourself to process your case.
