1- Introduction
As discussed in class, about renewable energies, the following report will focus on
researching the hydraulic energy that water provides on its operation, its manufacturers
worldwide, machines that allow this resource to work and what is the role played by the
First of all, some terms will be defined before continuing, as it will be necessary to
into hydraulic energy. It generates flow with enough power to overcome pressure induced by
movement.

2- Developing
Let's begin with its operation. We have already seen that hydraulic rams can give us more
force or speed, but they can not do both at the same time, and that is because of energy. For
example, a water pistol .A basic law of physics called the law of conservation of energy says
we can not make energy out of thin air. The amount of energy you use to move the plunger is
equal to the force you use times the distance you move it. If our water pistol produces twice
as much force at the wide end as we supply at the narrow end, it can only move half as far.
That is because the energy we supply by pushing down is carried right around the pipe to the
other end. If the same amount of energy now has to move twice the force, it can only move it
half the distance in the same time. That is why the wider end moves more slowly than the
narrow end. In the following link you can watch a video for a better understand:

Some companies have taken advantage of hydraulic energy and now they are in the top.
1- Bosch Rexroth, founded in 1795, located in Germany, Bosch’s products are widely used
in various fields such as ocean energy, civil engineering, wind energy, mobile applications,
marine, automotive, aluminum, and food and packaging. They are also used in applications
such as plastic and die cast machinery, semiconductors, agriculture, forest machinery,
2- Daikin Industries, founded in 1924, located in Japan. The company provides advanced,
high-quality air conditioning solutions for commercial and industrial applications. The
company provides hydraulic equipment through its oil-hydraulics division. It is divided into

three subdivisions: industrial hydraulic equipment, mobile hydraulic equipment, and
hydraulic units, motor pump, piston pumps, rotor pumps, vane pumps, gear pumps, pressure
control valves, flow control valves, oil coolers, hydraulic units and accessories, and sub
plates.
3- Eaton, founded in 1911, located in Ohio, U.S. The company is involved in the design,
manufacture and sale of high-efficiency hydraulic systems and its components that are used
in mobile and industrial sectors. The hydraulics division includes Eaton’s filtration and the
4- Kawasaki Heavy Industries, founded in 1896, located in Japan. The company
manufactures transportation equipment and industrial goods. It offers products under the
motorcycles, helicopters, jet engines, general-purpose robot, merchant ships, hydraulic pumps
and motors, and aerodynamic machinery. The company offers various hydraulic components
5- Parker Hannifin, founded in 1918, located in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S. The company
systems, and related components. It also produces fluid purification, process instrumentation,
refrigeration, fluid flow, air conditioning, and electromagnetic shielding and thermal
management products. Parker Hannifin operates its business through three reportable
segments: industrial, aerospace, and climate and industrial controls. The company offers
various products under this market which includes hydraulic filters, fluids, accumulators,

3- Conclusion
But the crux in question is where Mechanical Engineering appears in all those machines.
They require movement and energy transformations. As a conclusion, in each step by step,
for example, when water hits a generator in a linear way, there occurs a transformation from
hydraulic energy into mechanical energy, and then into electric, at the same time, the linear
movement turns into a circular movement. We can generate renewable energy just only
required to design those prototypes, and take advantage from the natural environment.
