(There are many active theater groups in the Philippines that

focus in producing original plays written in Filipino. One of them is the


Tanghalang

Pilipino (TP), which is a resident theater firm of the Cultural Center of the

Philippines. TP was established in 1987. The other groups include the

Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA), which was launched in the

1960s, the Gantimpala Theater Foundation, Inc., Dulaang Unibersidad ng

Pilipinas, Teatro Tomasino, and Tanghalang Ateneo.)

unify the efforts of everyone and be able to come up with a work of art
(musical show, stage play) that an audience will appreciate and value.

He/she works with the performers (actor cast/musicians) and motivates them
to deliver their part well. When something is not in synchrony with acting or
playing of instrument, the director/orchestra conductor identifies that.

Both attempt to bring to life a script/score and make an intended audience


feel the emotions embedded in it.)

(The producer. He makes sure that each order of the director is in


place and is followed exactly.)

(The other name for technical rehearsal is "TECH" rehearsal. This kind of
rehearsal is usually done at theaters, performance, musical, and even at films.
This ensures that the technical aspects such as lighting, sound, costume and
many other technical properties of the activity is properly aligned and
maintained in their proper position. Usually, the Properties Director is
entitled to do the organization.

The name aptly describes the role of technical rehearsals. The word
"technical" implies the application of proper craft and techniques to deal with
the demand of the crowd, masses and the segments involved.)
