A Semi- Detailed Lesson Plan
Oral Communication

I. Objectives :
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a.) Differentiate the types of speech delivery;


b.) Practice speech delivery and;
c.) Reflect on their learning on the principles of speech
delivery.

II. Subject Matter :


Principles of Speech Delivery

Materials:
Cartolina, board and chalk/whiteboard marker

III. Learning Sequence

A. Motivation

 The teacher will gather up a collection of artworks enough


for the class to have one each and a few spare.
 The teacher will place them down and have everybody
pick one.
 Using the image as a prompt, the teacher will ask about
what can they say or share about it.
 Everybody will be given a chance to speak their thoughts
and they have 10 to 20 seconds to share it.

B. Discussion
 The teacher will first introduce the new topic in class.
 The teacher will then discuss the principles of speech
delivery
 Starting with the types of Speech according to purpose,

o Informative speech
o Entertainment speech
o Persuasive speech

 Followed by the types of speech according to delivery

o Extemporaneous
o Impromptu
o Manuscript
o Memorized

 The teacher will then discuss the most common


challenges in different speaking environment

o Speaking to a specific audience size


o Speaking in an open-air venue or outside the
building
o Speaking in different venues
o Speaking with a microphone
o Speaking with a podium or lectern

C. Generalization
 The teacher will explain and put emphasis on the
importance of knowing the principles of speech
delivery in real life situations.

D. Evaluation
 The teacher will give an individual activity and it will
be written in ½ crosswise and it could be done for the
rest of the hour.
