I. Objectives:
At the end of the sixty minute period, the students should be able to;
1. define unfamiliar words found in the selection;
2. arrange the sequence of events in the story ;
3. infer character traits portrayed in the fable, The Vanity of the Rat;
4. relate text content to particular concerns in real life; and
5. participate enthusiastically in classroom discussion and activities.
II. Subject Matter:
Topic: Inferring Character Traits
Fable: Vanity of the Rat by Y.T. Pyun
Valuing: Respect the decisions of our parents and do not be insensitive and greedy.

The teacher will play a video of the assigned
selection, The Vanity of the Rat. They will watch
and analyze the video.

Vanity of the Rat.
B. Activity
“Word FactoRAT!”
The teacher will post sentences using unfamiliar
words taken from the fable, The Vanity of the Rat.
The students will choose their answer from the 2D
rat hole.
