Global Context Orientation in space and time
People who live in different area develop ways to adapt with the new situation
Statement of Inquiry
including their ways to cook their food

Design situation:
One of important program in our school is camp activity, when students and teachers go to
certain place and doing some activities to improve personal skills, team work and collaboration
among teachers and students within year level.

There will be some occasion when students need to

cook their own meal in camp. Hopefully this also
gives chance to them to improve their ability to
adapt with different situation. However there are
some important points that they need to consider
related with:
1. How can they cook a healthy meal?
2. How can they adapt with a new place where
they cannot get fresh ingredients from the
market?
3. How can they avoid some unhealthy food and
preservative (in canned food or instant noodle)?
4. How can they cook and serve the food properly
5. How can they cook efficiently (being efficient in time because don’t have much time to cook
or being efficient in bring cooking stuff)

A. Inquiring and Analyzing

Why do we need to design healthy menu for campers? Explain the relevance with the program
that you will have in school.

Construct some research questions to know more about consideration and things that must be
avoid in cooking healthy menu for campers
Collect information related with the questions above from primary and secondary sources.

Primary Resources Secondary Resources

Collect information about some examples of menu for campers that give you inspiration for

Summarize the main findings of your research

Develop a detailed design brief which summarizes the analysis of relevant research.

The student:
i. explains and justifies the need for a solution to a problem
ii. constructs a research plan, which states and prioritizes the primary and
7-8 secondary research needed to develop a solution to the problem
independently
