Munnar is one of the most popular hill-resort towns in Kerala and in southern India. Munnar is
located on the Western Ghats, situated in the Idukki district. We can witness the nature's beauty

The name Munnar is believed to be derived from the Malayalam/Tamil words Munu (three) and
aaru (river), referring to the town's strategic location at the confluence of the Muthirappuzha,
Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers. Munnar is the heavenly place which offers the complete heavenly
bliss and you can walk within its atmost ecstacy.

Munnar attracts tourists from all over the world because of its exquisite natural beauty.
Munnar is located in the state of Kerala and was the popular summer destinations of the British
rulers.
It is a narrow stretch of land flanked on one side by the Arabian Sea and on the other side by the
Western Ghat mountain ranges. Palm-fringed backwaters, scenic beaches, misty mountains,
evergreen rain forests, gushing streams and waterfalls, all make this ancient spice capital of the
world the most sought-after tourist destination. No wonder, the National Geographic Society
chose Kerala as one of the 50 must-see destinations.
Climate of Manner:
Munnar experiences a moderate climate all through the year. Summers (March to May) are
pleasant and the temperature ranges a maximum of 25°C to minimum of 15°C. Winters during
December to February are cool and temperature comes down to 10°C during this period.
Monsoons (June to September) are lovely with pouring rainfalls.
Driving up to Munnar can be adventurous, as you go up slowly through the narrow winding roads,
you will see all the shades of green that God created. From the lush carpets of the tea bushes to
the silver green of the oak it is all there on the mountains of Munnar.
Tourist Cars, Jeeps and Auto rikshaws available for getting around. Bicycles and bikes are also
available for daily rent.
