Om

Om is the first syllable of the universe and its primordial sound. It is pronounced A-U-M + Shanti
(pause, silence, calmness). The three letters are structure and the hymn is flow. Structure moves with
flow.

Brahma (creator), Vishnu (preserver), and Shiva (destroyer) are the Trimurti of Hinduism. Together,
they are Brahman; the ultimate and formless reality. Brahma is A. Vishnu is U. Shiva is M. The
Trimurti merges in hymn. Thus, Om is Brahman, god. Creation (A), preservation (U), and
destruction (M) merge in hymn. This is Satchitananda, Existence-Consciousness-Bliss.

Past (A), Present (U), and Future (M) merge in hymn and produce transcendence. This
transcendence is the Brahman represented as Om.

The soul or Atman is four-fold as well. There is body (A), mind (U), and spirit (M) that merge in
hymn. This oneness is the Atman, which is identical to Brahman.

The Crowd (A), the Identity is (U), and the I Am (M). All merge together in Om. This is Moksha,
liberation from life (A), death (U), and rebirth (M) and realization of Self.

All language begins with the first syllable and primordial sound, Om. Words are structure and
sentences are flow. In hymn, all words merge together into Om. Thus, Om is all understanding in all
languages.

All thought is structure that merges into flow in hymn. Om is that structure and flow. This is peace
of mind and serenity.

Matter is (A), Mind is (U), and Consciousness is (M). All worlds merge together into the universe.
Om is the formless universe.

External world (A), internal world (U), and social world (M) merge together in hymn into Om. This
is the formless world, Brahman.

Water is (A), wave is (U), ocean is (M) as all three structures move in flow and merge into Om. This
formless ocean of water and wave is Brahman.

Platonic form (A), transcendental Idea (U), and defined will (M) are structure that move with flow.
Om is that structure of knowledge and the flow that animates Agni (fire), formless energy.

You (A), I (U), We (M) merge together in Om. Atman is that unity. Brahman is this reality. Atman is
Brahman.

Brahman is real; the world is unreal. Its nature is the absolute and formless reality. Friends, foes, and
strangers are perspective reflections of Maya. Mirror (A), Reflection (U), Smoke (M) merge together
in Om. This is the unveiling of Maya, and what is seen is Brahman.

The perspective (A), counter-perspective (U), and perspectivism (M) is structure that flows and
merges into Om. Thus, Om is beyond all perspective.

Om is the sacred Yes-saying to the universe that many philosophers have written of, but few have
heard.

Whoever knows this is a Rishi, hearer of sound and seer of thought.

This is the highest teaching of the Vedas.

This is Moksha.

Om.
