Chapter 4

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

This chapter includes the presentation of the gathered and computed data,
analysis and interpretation of the data during the performance evaluation.

Experimental Results
Aquaponics is an ecological and sustainable system of healthy organic food
production without using soil. Having in mind that we are growing plants
without soil and fish at the same time it is clear that aquaponics combines
many different techniques.

Theoretical Discharge Capacity
Table 4 shows the experimental computed data (theoretical) results during the
conduct of the performance evaluation. The data gathered was observed
continuously using the aquaponics system.

Discharge Capacity

The computed discharge capacity of discharge of the aquaponics are shown in

table 5. The discharge capacity is the total aquaponics system that can be
collected in the fish pond to the total time used during collection.

Statistical Results and Observations

Based on the independent sample t-test analysis, there was a high significant
difference on the discharged capacity of aquaponics as shown in Table 6. This
signifies that aquaponics discharge capacity.

It was also observed during the conduct of the study that manual discharge
was more hassle than aquaponics discharge.
