Lesson Plan in English

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a. differentiate the meaning of active and passive voice through discussion.
b. identify what voice of verb is being used in the sentence, whether it is
active or passive voice.
c. construct at least 2-3 sentences of both active and passive voice.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Active and Passive Voice
Reference: Pp.134-135; Lourna V. Tagay; Journeying through Language and
Literature.
Materials: Power point Presentation, laptop & marker.

III. Procedures
A. Preliminaries
 Prayer
 Arrangement of Chairs
 Checking of Attendance
 Recapitulation
B. Motivation
 The teacher will present a group of pictures and the students will anticipate
how words are being related to each other.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Activities
 The teacher will present the topic and will give a varied examples.
 The teacher will ask for some questions and will entertain further
clarifications.
1.1 Analysis
 The teacher will present five (5) sentences and will randomly call a
students to identify what voice is being used in a sentence whether it is
active or passive voice.
1.2 Abstraction
 The teacher will randomly call at least two students to synthesize the topic
that has been discussed.
1.3 Application
 The teacher will be going to group the students by row with at least five
members.
 The group are tasked to construct at least 2-3 sentences of both active
and passive voice.

IV. Evaluation
 The teacher will task the students to answer individually the following
given sentences.
Identify whether the sentence is active or passive. Write A if it is Active and B if it is
Passive. Write only the answer in a 1/4 sheet of paper.

1. I ran the obstacle course in record time.


2. At dinner, six shrimp were eaten by Larry.
3. The whole suburb was destroyed by the forest fire.
4. The director will give you an instructions.
5. A movie is going to be watched by us tonight.

V. Assignment
 The students are tasked to research in advance the topic “Intensive &
Reflective Pronoun" in page 136-139.
