The Book Of John John 3:25-30

for educators
Now a discussion arose between some of John’s disciples and a Jew over purification. And they
came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He Who was with you across the Jordan, to Whom you bore
witness – look, He is baptizing, and all are going to Him.” John answered, “A person cannot receive
even one thing unless it is given him from heaven. You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am
not the Christ, but I have been sent before Him. The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The
friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice.
Therefore this joy of mine is complete. He must increase, but I must decrease.

Picture the garbage man casting your trash into the truck. They are not tender, nor timid, but hurl
that mess away. Do the same with your anxieties and cast them upon the Lord without taking
them back!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help us Lord to be humble as we approach Your throne

our anxieties upon You because You care for us. We

want to be under the covering of Your might hand,
Lord. Show us how to not take them back Lord, but
leave them with you. Be exalted above all our cares

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on
its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the
truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
