OBJECTIVES

• To understand how a Tour is planned and

organised

• To experience what adventure is all about

• To explore new destination and gain knowledge

about the destination

• To know all about river crossing, rock climbing,

rappelling, artificial wall climbing and camping .

• To know about the local culture of Dharamshala.

LEARNINGS
• Waking up everyday at 5 AM, getting ready for fall in and
exercise, sharp at 6AM on daily basis made me disciplined.

• I gained an immense knowledge about rock climbing, river

crossing, rappelling and trekking by practically experiencing
it.

• I got to know about gears required in the activities

performed such as harness, carabiners, belay device,
helmet, climbing shoes etc.

• Being on places on time, sleeping on time and washing our

own dishes helped in making me punctual and patient.

• Staying with my batchmates for 10 days helped me to get to

know about them more and also how to work and help each
other in a team.

• Staying for 8 days in dormitory, adapting to the lifestyle that

was being experienced helped in making me self dependent
and self reliable.

SUGGESSTIONS

• There should be proper security system at the centre so that

nobody could indulge in any kind of mischief.

• At the time of trek students must be together and strict rules

must be followed so that students maintain discipline.

• Food served could have been better in taste.

• Washrooms, beds and dormitory must be neat and clean.

• Proper connection for switch boards must be there in

dormitory.

• 24*7 electricity and water supply must be provided.

• More activities must be included in the trip like paragliding

etc.

• Geyser in washrooms is a must as it is very cold in

Mcleodganj.

• Medical facility must be present in the centre in case of any

injury or so.

CONCLUSION
With all this, breath taking adventurous activities and fun filled
10 day journey came to an end. Lots of learning experience
and all the fears and capabilities within me were discovered.

Living in the dormitory with minimal facilities with my

batchmates away from home and adjusting through everyone’s
comforts and needs was another task and experience.

I am glad to get this adventure training under ABVIMAS, all the

activities done like rock climbing, river crossing etc. was of a
great learning and I am thankful to my entire institute for giving
me such an opportunity. Its good that such trips are a part of
course in IITTM that help students to get to know about a bit of
adventure tourism through practical experience.

Overall the trip was awesome, I experienced the real adventure

in these days.
