MUS300 Form & Analysis

Instructor: Laura Pritchard

1.) 3-5 pages in length; double-spaced; 12-point font (50% of grade)

2.) Please go back and review all topics we have discussed and make sure you identify them in your piece.
The point of this paper is to show you are now able to apply what you've learned in the semester on your
own. (50% of grade)
3.) No bibliography is required since this is strictly your own analysis, but you are more than welcome to use
resources if you find something interesting you'd like to add to your paper about the piece. I like to start
analysis papers with a little background information about the piece in the first paragraph anyway. If you do
this, though, make sure you cite your sources and include a bibliography!
4.) Image excerpts (as seen in my example) are not required, but I highly encourage them if you are able to
figure it out on your computer. They are a great way to give the reader a visual!

5.) Rough Draft: A rough draft will be due Sunday, April 7th by midnight. I will send you corrections on
Monday, April 8th so you can make any last changes before the final due date.
6.) Final Paper Due Date: Sunday, April 14th by midnight (once submitted, your class with me is complete!
