RYE COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL
This campus planning initiative prioritized the
integration of a new parcel into the school’s
campus. In addition to providing amenities for the
school that would also be open to the public, this
proposal facilitated safe street crossing for young
students, faculty and community members.

Existing woodland was preserved where

possible and portions were restored to
ameliorate degraded conditions, provide a
nature trail for the community, and act as a
buffer from the adjacent highway.

LANDSCAPE QUE|E|RY MLA THESIS

This work charts a methodology that is organized according to four tenets of classification derived from queer theory.
Part catalogue, part experiment, part performance, part sample collection, part artifact creation, part prototype, part
representation, the process resulted in an installation. This was an invitation to the designer to become one of many
agents who might create or design a site. Short films immersed the viewer in agential community using personal eye level
viewing boxes. Catalogs, artifacts, samples, prototypes, and The Game of Embodied Analyses engaged the intellect.
