3. Pre Test Condition
The following criteria shall be satisfied before the Testing & Commissioning can commence:

3.1 General
Inspection of the mechanical installation should be made to verify the equipment is correctly selected
and not visibly damaged or defective. Inspections that need to be carried out prior to the test include
but not limited to;
1. Confirm all packing material removed from pump and inlet/ outlet are free from obstruction.
2. Confirm there is no visual damage to the external casing of unit or damage to the internal parts.
3. Confirm pump room space is fit for commissioning to commence.
4. Ensure chilled / condenser water line pressure tested as per approved T&C script and results
found satisfactory.
5. Confirm physical condition of electrical terminals, tighten and main power cable installed.
6. Record nameplate information and compare with specification provided. Highlight any
discrepancy noted.
7. Confirm strainers are in place and are clean.
8. Confirm there is no damage to the electrical components.
9. Confirm all electrical terminations are securely tightened.

4. Testing
4.1 General
Undertake all necessary checks and complete the Testing & Commissioning Record of Pumps QA/QC
Checks.

4.2 Mechanical Checks

Undertake all necessary Mechanical checks as per below Section.
1. Confirm there is no visual damage to the pump.
2. Ensure the pump alignment has been verified.
3. Check and record all motor and pump nameplate details and compare with specification
provided. Highlight any discrepancy noted.
4. Check all labeling, reference number at the water pump and MCC panel is correct same as
approval drawing.
5. Confirm all inertia blocks are completed; wedges and other obstacles are removed to allow
pump and motor to rotate freely.
6. Check the pump shaft is free to rotate by hand.
7. Confirm the pipework has been hydrostatically tested in accordance with the commissioning &
testing specification and that there is no evidence of leakage at joints or valves.
8. Confirm strainer is installed on inlet connection to the pump and a check valve on the discharge.
9. Confirm that vents are installed at the highest point of the system and a drain has been installed
at the lowest point of the system.
10. Confirm the pump is secured on the shaft and free to rotate.
11. Check the belt drive / couplings are securely aligned (where applicable) and are correctly
tensioned.
12. Check the motor and drive guards are fitted and accessible for tachometer.
13. Check all normally open valves are fully open and all motorized valves are set to manual over-
ride for full flow.
14. Pump casing is vented of air.
15. Pump discharge / flow valve is 50% closed to limit initial start current.
16. Confirm all packing material removed from unit and pump inlet/ outlet are free from
obstruction.
